    Ebike collector story in China

Well written post. My first ebike encounter was on a sidewalk in a medium size city in China. The rider passed me at a slow speed, but was accelerating silently without pedaling. I was hooked at first sight. For you, it is difficult to make a career from a passion, as you say most people...

    High speed deer collision.

Hope you recover quickly. I have had a buck jump immediately in front of me at speed from out of a dense woods. Their ability to jump is awe inspiring. I ride around a large number of deer, encountered more than 50 on a single sunset ride last month. On an afternoon ride the next day I saw 1...

Light Touring Build using Bionx Drive without a Bionx Battery

A few more thoughts to share. The Schwalbe Marathon Supreme tires and tubes have low rolling resistance and good grip, but if I buy a new tire it will be a little wider with a bit of tread. The grip on a dry road gives enough confidence to lean into turns, however the tires are so low profile...

Charger gets very hot while charging. Concerned?

changl - Do you believe your charger has a fan that isn't functioning? Some high quality solid state chargers get quite hot (difficult to hold in the hand) but do not have a fan - the Satiator from Grin Tech, for example.

Light Touring Build using Bionx Drive without a Bionx Battery

This bike was made to move at a moderate speed (tops out at 23 - 25 mph) over greater distances. I2C era Bionx motors are highly durable and inexpensive, though many believe they require the use of an expensive Bionx battery. After a cable modification, they can be made to function perfectly...

    Super Commuter Version 1.1

Having made a DIY bike along these lines, I wish mine had four piston discs, a bombproof 100 pound rack, an open source 880 wh battery, a Gates + Rohloff drive and had come with a satiator, a brighter light than my Niterider 1400 and an Abus lock. This is a performance / function driven design...

York County,Pa. USA YCP Bans all ebikes on local rail trail

I hesitate to post without a contribution, but my hat's off to the forum members in this thread who are resolving this issue with patience, talent and grace. I hope it becomes a model for future ebike access issues.

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Minne - snow - ta ! USA Thanks to everyone who posts in this thread -lots of inspirational photos. Here's one from a ride to Bemidji Minnesota yesterday. A cold headwind and some rain were in the mix on the 45 mile northbound, but the support of the motor was just enough to counter the wind...

    pricing

If there is a policy against free exchange of price information on this board, then Court should be notified, I can't believe he would maintain a board that so blatantly served dealers at the expense of the thousands of riders who are members here...

    e-bike hatred.. I've found it

A few decades ago the USA was the home of innovation and invention, what a shame it has become the land of the petty and the intolerant. Comparing the EU to the USA is like day and night in this regard. Specialized won't even sell their complete line of ebikes in the USA, their home country...

200 mile one week Riese & Muller Homage Rohloff HS Report

Thanks for sharing your experience. I feel the same way about the Turbo Levo battery as you do about the power tube. It's too long to carry a second battery, even in a pannier. There are some after market solutions for the Levo, but it is a real drawback if you like long rides.

    Assistance at higher speeds

Concur, I've got a 1998 Bionx 36V which I have run at 48V for many miles through tropical storms, etc. A well made DD with quality components is best for on-road distance work where nimble responsiveness isn't a primary consideration. Sorry I am not up to date on the latest from Bionx or...

    eMTB off road photo thread.

Dan, thanks for the great post with photos. I might convert one of my bikes to four piston with a larger diameter. Your first photos show some great terrain for riding, hope I find my way west with an ebike one day!

    eMTB off road photo thread.

Nice photos. Curious what "converting to a 1X" means? What all is involved in increasing the rotor diameter- is it necessary to custom weld the caliper mounts into a new position? Riding an ebike at night is fantastic.
