    Review: Electra Vale Go!

Hi @BillyB - Congrats to your SIL on her new ride! I put one of these on the back of my wife's bike; it has attachment loops underneath which I tied to the rack rails with zip ties. https://www.rivbike.com/collections/bags/products/kzsd4fakje4544fialkjefoiau9ooooe546 Kind of expensive, but...

Elby S-1 9-Speed in Orange, Like New -- SOLD

When I was thinking about purchasing an Elby from Amazon back in December ($2999 + tax) I emailed back and forth with a local mobile bike tech who has a contract to deliver and support the Elby. He was very open and pretty clear that they are reliable bikes and he has had no issue getting...

Elby S-1 9-Speed in Orange, Like New -- SOLD

I wish you had posted this back before the holidays, when I decided to just 'buy something" due to limited availability. Good Luck with the sale!

    Review: Electra Vale Go!

I just bought one of these from a local shop for my wife's xmas present. I really appreciate @Dewey's analysis above, and I happen to agree with it but in COVID world availability trumps a lot of other factors. This was in stock in a nice color (the blue on the EBR review bike), comes with a...

Raleigh and Rambo e-bikes at Costco (Raleigh No Longer Available)

Great writeup @BMWzenRider! That's how it's done :) Thanks for putting in the time for the benefit of the EBR community. I really do think this bike is something special, and I'm glad it has allowed you to get back to an activity you clearly love after your injury. Hopefully the coming R&M...

One Motor Initial review, small frame size bike

Are they still offering only a 6-month warranty? This was also pretty concerning to me, as it doesn't demonstrate faith in their own engineering.

One Motor Initial review, small frame size bike

Awesome report, thanks for the writeup! Your real-world mileage is in line with what I would expect from such a compact unit, and is probably a little under my needs. I have been doing more riding since stay-at-home began and now most of my joyrides are 27 - 32 miles. Hows the noise from...

Raleigh and Rambo e-bikes at Costco (Raleigh No Longer Available)

Yup, BBS02B, the non-HD version, 750w. I used it for commuting on the street for 3 years on a dutch-style city bike. It was a great intro to electric mobility; eventually the battery system (not the motor) failed and I decided to move on.

Raleigh and Rambo e-bikes at Costco (Raleigh No Longer Available)

Ya know, are pictures really necessary? Not trying to be a jerk but it looks like a basic hardtail mountain bike with a frame-mounted battery and a black rear hub. Exactly like how it looks on the Raleigh site. Is there something in particular you wanted to see?

Raleigh and Rambo e-bikes at Costco (Raleigh No Longer Available)

The Costco Raleigh bike arrived yesterday; I built and test-rode it today after work. The unpack/build process was easy and took less than an hour. Mine showed up in 95% condition. The packing job was great but the battery did break free from the mount during transit and was bouncing around...

I got a shipping notification but delivery is more than a week out. I will still report back here for the sake of any general curiousity.

I am happy to do so. Given that the top tube is sloped, at what point do you measure? Also, it will be some time before I receive, assemble and measure this bike. I doubt Costco will be carrying these for very long; you might want to take a flyer yourself if you have a warehouse nearby for an...

Raleigh and Rambo e-bikes at Costco (Raleigh No Longer Available)

I'm no geometry expert, but the Costco bike appears to use the same frame as the current Raleigh Miscoe. That bike (https://www.raleighusa.com/electric/leisure/misceo-ie-step-over) shows a standover for the medium frame at 744mm (29.3 inches).

Thanks for the tip @PineNut. I just ordered one of the Raleigh bikes. I will report back to this thread with impressions. If it arrives trashed it's not a big deal for me to return it to the local warehouse; otherwise I wouldn't be taking a flyer on this.

    Death Wobble Anyone?

Hey @MattsQuickE - did you get this straightened out? Just curious.

    Death Wobble Anyone?

This is often caused by an excess load bias toward the rear of the bike. Are you carrying a lot on your rear rack? If so, take a test ride without your normal load and see if the onset of the head shake changes. If it does, you could think about mounting a front rack or front panniers to help...

Checking in from Hudson, New York

Yeah, I'm more in the mid-distance city commuter category so not much direct experience with your goals. One of the most well-known members here is @Ravi Kempaiah who holds a number of long distance ebiking records and just started a new distance-oriented ebike company (WattWagons); you might...

Checking in from Hudson, New York

Welcome @Dmooreny! The Hudson valley is such a fantastic riding area! That's a beautiful bicycle. You sure you want to ugly it up with a big battery wart, honkin' motor blob and wide chinese cranks? You might consider trying out a simple front hub motor, which can be installed and removed...

Best tires/wheels for all-seasons commute on pavement

IMO those are great tires. But most of the major manufacturers are making ebike-rated tires these days, no harm in trying out something else!

Best tires/wheels for all-seasons commute on pavement

I wish I could fit those tires on my bike! Seriously, when you have a motor helping you out a little bit of weight and friction doesn't have much impact. Is there an range problem or other issue you are trying to solve?
