    eMTB Options For 2024

The Reign has always intrigued the hell out of me. More downhill oriented than my riding slant, but I'll bet it's just killer for that. BTW, for any that follow along here, I had such a blast last year in AZ over Thanksgiving week that we are going back again this year. Managed to get a couple...

    eMTB Options For 2024

Yeah, there really isn't a good substitute for a reasonable eMTB. They're in a class their own. Once you experience REAL suspension you'll find the Explore just really isn't. I loved mine, but don't miss it a bit, but then I don't commute. And if I spent much time on the road then I WOULD miss...

    eMTB Options For 2024

Holy smokes it's quiet around here...hope everybody is enjoying their summer with lots of mountain biking. I haven't been getting out as much as I would like to, but some trips planned for fall - maybe even another trek to Arizona. The winters are fantastic there. Speaking of 'trek'...

    Orbea Rise eMTB

There's a number of threads and quite a lot of feedback on emtb.com It gets rave reviews - no unhappy customers that I've heard of.

    Vehicle Rack for 2 Aventures?

^^Looks good. But the frame-hold bar would be a non-starter for me. The rocky-mounts main frame bar rises higher after the hitch insert part, creating a lot higher ground clearance. Not sure about others, but I think Kuat's do as well. Hope you don't drag on driveway aprons with the 'fultyme'.

    Vehicle Rack for 2 Aventures?

Yes, exactly. And like my RockyMounts. My BIL has the Kuat one on a Highlander, and I liked it so well I went looking for one when we got the new RV 'toad'. The Kuat's are nice but very high-$$ - with some models up to the $700-range. I'm not real excited about all the alloy linkage on the...

    Vehicle Rack for 2 Aventures?

Not a question. A rack with a keeper bar that clamps down on the tire will not work with a bike that has fenders. I just took a quick look at '1Up' racks and perhaps their clamps can be configured to work with some fenders. They clamp in a different place than the over-the-tire type hold clamps...

    Vehicle Rack for 2 Aventures?

^^ A tire-locking bike rack doesn't work on a bike with fenders. Not sure if I understood that correctly.

    eMTB Options For 2024

"Expensive. Very expensive." Well gee...$109? o_O They ought to bring back the old style early MX gloves with the ribs on top...for $30. [shrug] Funny...I never blinked once spending $140 for quality riding gloves for my $20K adventure bike. Or $500 for a jacket. 😁 These Abel Brown's...

How are you guys lifting your ebikes over your truck tailgate pad?

Gear Lab reviewed all the popular ones last year here: https://www.outdoorgearlab.com/topics/biking/best-tailgate-pad The problem with an eMTB is weight. So if you have an Levo SL or something that's under 40lbs it might be do-able, or if you're a young buck and strong as an ox, it might be no...

    eMTB Options For 2024

Out of my estimated 100K miles of road, and another 100K miles of offroad, roadbikes adventure bikes and dirtbikes, 8 back injuries from crashing off road, I have only ever actually broken one bone and that is my little finger on my left had. The tendon won't lift it all the way up. My front...

    eMTB Options For 2024

Yeah, I get it...fifty years on motorbikes you get a different take on protection. When you go down the FIRST thing that hits the ground is generally your hands. For cooler weather I got a pair of goat-leather driving gloves. They're really soft and comfy, good protection, lightweight, but tough...

    Vehicle Rack for 2 Aventures?

^^Dead link. Curt has a bunch of hitches for the civic, all with a 200lb tongue weight rating: https://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2011_Honda_Civic.htm A rack and a couple of bikes comes right in about there. My Sparky surely isn't any more heavy duty than a civic - both have a stamped sheet metal...

    eMTB Options For 2024

"Safety investment...". Dayum...I'll have to run that one by the wife...to justify spending another ten grand on a bike. 🤣 Lighter is always more maneuverable, confidence-inducing. Just take a look at what an observed trials bike can do as a 'motorcycle'.
