Anything new for 2023 with Trek ebikes?

I'd love to see the TQ motor in a city bike with no front suspension. I think that would be a great bike for my wife. I'm anxious for her to get an ebike so we can ride further when we go out together.

    Allant+ 7s cracked rear wheel

I agree with Rob, it shouldn't be that hard to buy another wheel right away. You might be out of pocket, but if you commute regularly then it's useful to have a second wheel and you'll eventually need another one anyways. I find it can be handy as you can have one set of wheels for city riding...

How many miles have you travelled on the e-bike(s) that you currently own?

I rode about 9,000 km’s on my Juiced CCS before I sold it to a friend who had his eye on it. I only have around 3,300 km’s on my Creo, which is disappointing, but it’s a combination of the Creo has been slightly disappointing and I bought an Aethos that I like so much more. I originally got an...

    TQ motor

Sounds like you'd be more interested in the road version of the same bike. That's the one I'm interested in as well. https://www.scott-sports.com/ca/en/product/scott-solace-eride-20-bike?article=290618058

Stromer 500w motor vs new TQ 250 watt? Experience??

I think the Trek might be able for a bit of time, but it's going to rely on rider power far more than the Stromer. I think the Stromer has so much power and such a big battery that most people would be able to cruise at 28 mph. But on the Domane+, I think it would take a reasonably fit cyclist...

    TQ motor

Really hoping that more bike manufacturers use the TQ motor as I'm really interested in long-term reliability. I also like the trend to smaller motors like this that provide a more moderate amount of assistance and lighter weight. I must say I'm a bit surprised that Trek wasn't able to get an...

    TQ motor

Well Deacon, you're right again. I got an email from Trek this morning and the Domane+ SLR is now officially available in Canada. Though I love the idea of this bike, the price is quite high and like yourself I'm wondering about long-term reliability of the motor. Now that I'm working from...

800Wh battery available in Canada now...

Typically when I go with my riding group we'll ride anywhere from about 60 km's to 120km's depending on how much time we have. If my wife were with me, I obviously don't have to rush back to see her so probably would like to do rides on the longer end of the spectrum. When she goes with me we...

    2023 Trek Domane+

Deacon, I got an email from Trek about their Christmas catalog. In it they show the Domane+ SLR and the catalog says "Coming soon to Canada", so it appears you're correct. It will be interesting to see what the price is, sure to be expensive. Hopefully there will be a less expensive option for...

    TQ motor

Wow that Silk Carbon bike sure looks nice. Too bad it appears they’re only in Europe.

    TQ motor

When I saw the new Trek Domane+ I assumed that they developed it in conjunction with TQ and that they would have an exclusive on the motor for a year, maybe a couple of years. But in time that some other manufacturer would also spec the motor on their bike. Well it happened much faster than I...

We need to stop blaming victims in bike theft!

Geez, I just saw the other thread about the 1,000 watt bike and fear mongering. All that and your bike got stolen. Sorry to hear. Everyone got worked up over how much power you had and that’s all moot now that you don’t have your bike. I had a friend whose bike was stolen and he was one of the...

My 1000w motor journey and fear mongering by users of the forum!

I’m at the other end of the spectrum as the OP as I like lighter ebikes and for the most part ride a bike without a motor. But I find that his original post is well written and states his point of View very well. I don’t know the history but I assume many people flamed him given what he wrote...

    The Experience of a Bicycle

You’re not alone. I’ve always preferred lighter ebikes that feel more like a regular bike. So much so that my main bike now is a Specialized Aethos i.e. no motor. I liked my Creo when I got it because it was more responsive and handled better than previous ebikes I had. But the Aethos is just a...

    2023 Trek Domane+

Oh, I forgot about the Fuel EXe, so maybe there is hope. If I get the Domane+ it will be my gravel bike as I'm likely to keep the Aethos for road duty. The Domane+ will be for gravel duty or days when I want some assist on the road.

    2023 Trek Domane+

Deacon, sadly I think that Trek only plans on selling the hub based Domane in Canada. The Domane+ with the TQ motor is speed limited to 45 km/hr and I think they don’t want to bother selling a 32 km/hr version in Canada. I’ve resigned myself to buying one in Washington and bringing it home.

    2023 Trek Domane+

I have a Creo as well and think I would like to get a Domane+ so I’m really interested in your experience. I just wish Trek would put this motor in a frame with the 700 Series carbon so it would be less expensive.

800Wh battery available in Canada now...

Agreed, as I said there should be a choice. Some people want the 500 because it's cheaper and lighter, others want the 800 for the range, and others want something in between. It would be nice if Giant gave purchasers a choice.

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

Richard thanks for posting your experience with this bike. I know there are lots of debates about hub vs. mid drive. The only thing I really care about with hub drives Is how easy/hard is it to remove the rear wheel. If you get a flat when you’re out on the road, are you going to be able to...

800Wh battery available in Canada now...

It would be pretty awesome if Giant allowed a purchaser to choose an option of battery size when they buy the bike initially. Norco does that with their e-MTBs, you have a choice of one of three battery sizes. The price is adjusted accordingly, but at least you don’t have to take the stock one...
