    Tubeless tire experiences

I've heard good things about the Muc-off valves. Flat out looks interesting, but I know nothing about it. I'll have to do some research.

    Tubeless tire experiences

I've used Stan's for since 2018 and, for the most part, haven been happy with the results, but twice, when I went 5 to 6 months between adding sealant, I got flats because the sealant had dried out. One negative I've come across while going the tubeless/sealant route is that rim tape can fail...

    Tubeless tire experiences

If your bike is going to sit for 5 months you'll need to take the tires off the rims and clean out the sealant. If you don't, it will pool at the lowest point and dry out. My road bike goes off the road for the winter months and onto my indoor trainer. I replaced my back tire with an...

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

In case you don't know, torque the three bolts to 35Nm when installing the motor.

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

I did exactly the same thing when I tried, for the first time, to take out the three bolts holding the motor in place. :D After spinning the hex bolt side I looked at the other side and saw the nut. Take lots of photos before you disconnect the wires.

    Anyone get glasses at Costco?

I just bought three pair at my local Costco (in Canada). I really only needed two pair for driving (regular and tinted),but Costco had a sale on ($75 off the second pair and $100 off the third pair), so I couldn't resist. I also get cash back from my credit card and cash back from Costco, so...

Were You Moving Away From E-Bikes, What Traditional Bicycle Would You Buy?

This past summer I did two identical rides-one on my Cannondale Neo Lefty 3 e-gravel bike (Bosch gen 4 motor) and the other on my Giant Defy carbon road bike. The 75 km ride travels along the coastline and fairly flat, with only a few moderate hills. I love my road bike, and over the past 5...

    2023 Trek Domane+

I remember watching a video of a guy who purchased an early release of this motor on a mountain bike, who experienced grinding noises on his TQ motor. I chalked it up to an early production problem and haven't heard anything concerning grinding noises since.

Best eBike Rack for Tesla Model 3

Thule also makes a nice rack for ebikes. You'll be better off going with a hitch. If possible, go with a 2" receiver, which has considerably more max tongue weight over the 1.5" model. I noticed that Thule makes a rack with built-in tail lights, although I'm not sure if that model is available...

Bosch Smartphone Hub bracket - JUNK

I almost purchased a Smartphone hub a couple of years ago, but thought it was too expensive, so I passed. I'm REALLY glad I did.

My review of the ZEM Samurai

Great review. My wife recently received her Photon from Zen. A big factor for her was the throttle. It was a "must have" for her. I also live in Canada and have a gen 4 motor on my Cannondale Lefty 3. The cutoff on my bike was even lower than yours-30.5km/h. I ended up purchasing a...

    Flat bar Comp Carbon Creo.

I did a similar conversion with my Cannondale Topstone Neo Lefty 3 a couple of years ago. I had a problem with my hands going numb when riding any distances over 30km. I liked the flat bar setup, but I didn't like the extra width the flat bars gave me, and like you I found the bike to be...

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

The hardest part, by far, will be fitting the motor back into the frame. Because there is so little room between the frame plate and motor trying to stuff all the wires back in place is a real PITA (ask me how I know). I'd also recommend ordering a new gasket along with the torque sensor...

Today was supposed to be new Creo announcement day!

Depends on how fit you are.

Today was supposed to be new Creo announcement day!

Personally, I disappointed that the Creo 2 has shifted towards the gravel bike genre, only because I already have an excellent gravel bike (Cannondale Topstone Neo Lefty 3) and was thinking of purchasing a dedicated e-road bike next year.

    New CREOs just Dropped!

Looks like Specialized has moved away from a pure road bike to a gravel bike configuration (47mm tires and dropper seat post and a more gravel friendly frame).

Kindernay VII IGH and HYSEQ Onesie shifter

On the ride, before I noticed the leak, the hub was reluctant to shift into 7th gear. It got worse during the ride and eventually I wasn't able to shift into 7th gear. A couple of hours after the ride I checked on the bike and found the leak.

    1+ on getting a 2 inch receiver.

Non-hitch bike rack for two 35lb ebikes

I bought my last three hitches from etrailer.com. Installing hitches on SUVs is usually fairly easy. The last two I did, on my BMW X1 and my neighbour's newer Ravi 4, was a bolt-on job. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I have a hoist in my shop. ;)
