Katy trail rides (not the whole length) are definitely going to happen for me.... The Curt rack (although more expensive), has a 90 lb total capacity, so not much more than the 80 lb of the Prorack. I'm thinking my 50 lb Dash, and another aluminum MB of ~30 lbs shouldn't be a problem for...

It is a beautiful park!! I live about 45 minutes away, but it was worth it. I'll do it again, and try and learn all those convoluted paths. The ones that wind through the woods are my favorites. People tend to block the path, and I have to keep saying "on your left", and they sometimes get...

Took the Dash to Forest Park in Saint Louis city yesterday. I wasn't into this ride for the exercise, but to enjoy the scenery. Forest park is quite large for a city park, and has a multitude of bike paths (click show bike paths in the link above if you are curious). The surface of the...

It's 94 degrees here with a heat index in excess of 100. I took a little dash on the Dash after I got my household chores and errands done. 10.5 miles in about 1/2 hour. I got very good exercise and stayed relatively cool because of the speed. PAS 2 on the way out, and PAS 4 on the way back...

Some Mainstream Coverage of Electric Bikes

http://www.spokesman.com A Pittsburgh woman has an ace in the hold of her bike for keeping up with her hardcore cyclist husband on a 100-mile-a-day ride across the U.S. Cathy Rogers, 57, who describes herself as “a casual cyclist” left Redmond on Monday and plans to ride into Spokane today...

Looking for suggestions on an Electric Bike for older non-experienced female

Congrats on wanting to ride a bike again!!! The electric bike gives you the option of getting where you are going when you get tired, and the option of assisting you at whatever assist level works best at that time. I would recommend going with some form of Lithium battery (as opposed to lead...

    Peak and Dash Review

My understanding is the Peak only has throttle only assist to 6 mph. BTW, I wonder if Currie ever plans to offer a larger capacity battery pack? The current pack has good capacity, but 12 or even 15 amp-hour would be even better. There is sufficient space in the frame triangle for it.... Hmmmmmm

Oh, BTW Currie.... It sucks that the trip odometer resets when the bike auto-powers off. I had to use Google to figure out how far I rode. :(

Since my "regular" bike is down with a bad shifter cable, I decided to take the Dash on a popular bike path here (Creve Coeur park, in Saint Louis county Missouri). I started on the West side on the Missouri river, where there is a parking lot. Went over the bridge (downhill), and entered the...

Thanks guys. I actually did read the manual, but when I was messing around with the bike, it appeared that powering off from the control panel also turned off the battery (and I didn't remember what the book said). For repositioning the throttle, is it a simple matter of the allen head set...

In my brief time in the saddle, I have just a few observations: The "thrust" using throttle alone feels "weaker" than I expected. It is sufficient (and I intend to primarily use pedal assist), but even in PAS 1, the thrust from pedaling feels quite good (maybe even a little much). Previous...

Bike arrived, and I had to put the handlebars, pedals and front wheel on. It was drop-shipped from out if state (big discount). Adjusted everything, and checked for tightness on most everything. I thought I would have to wait for the battery, but it was on the bike in the box. The box showed...

What's the name of your bike?

Ok, I'll divulge something which should make at least a few of your laugh.... My avatar bike was a "T"rek "E"lectric "D"rive, so I called it "TED". Then, one day I said "I'm going to ride TED", and my friend busted out laughing (I'm a heterosexual man). Maybe I should have picked a different...
