    New Vado 5.0 family

I would recommend you seriously consider a frame lock for several reasons: 1) they are not too large and don't have much of a weight burden, particularly on an e-bike, and 2) they are always with you should you need it, even when you weren't expecting to, and 3) they really are a quick and...

[RESOLVED] (refunded) New Vado 5.0 IGH in the shop, errors galore---updated 4-13-22

Yikes! I am sorry to hear this. I think the new Vado is a great bike, but I say that from the perspective of a spectator, not an owner. Hopefully these are just growing pains and they can solve your problems and from here on out you will be able to fully enjoy your new bike.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I stopped by Work Horse Bicycles in Monterey, CA, on Sunday, February 27th, and they had two new 2022 Vado 4.0 STs on the floor - and both had the Praxis 48t chainring on them. I doubt the shop would change them out so I think the only reasonable explanation for why both had the larger...

    Specialized Como Battery Replacement Options?

I gave my girlfriend a similar bike for her birthday last week and she LOVES it! She has always been a traditional cyclist but she was afraid to even try my Vado because one of her girlfriends told her it was a "rocket ship" and she was afraid of it. For her birthday last week I got her a...

Suggested price for a Specialized Como 3.0 650b - Low-Entry? Used only once!

I paid $2,500 for a Como 3.0 in early January with just 44 miles on it.

New : Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH Belt Drive

I would LOVE to have one of these bikes, in a beautiful blue, of course. ;) But I expect will be a couple of years before anything other than the current colors of white, black and red are offered. But, all kidding aside, the reality is this bike costs far more than I am willing to spend...

2021 Turbo Vado 4.0 Fenders and Lights

Both my Vado and Lisa's Como have fenders, so bike racks with tire arms won't work for us. Because of this, I recently purchased the Hyperax Volt 2 e-bake hitch rack which clamps on to the center bar. Lisa's Como is a step-thru so this necessitated adding one of the Hyperax crossbars, too...

Direct to consumer-bypass the local bike shop? This will become a long thread

I had not heard about this before reading this post so this is a surprise to me. I guess I understand why Specialized is doing this, but I hope their support for their LBS network remains strong. On one hand, I am sure competition for sales is intense and Specialized does not want to be left...

Specialized Mission Control App Details & Settings

What an awesome ride! All through the City and it looks like you went over the peaks, too. Respect! I would LOVE to do that.

    Used creo alert, cheap!

Only a fool would believe Mr. Alexander Espinoza Perez's denials. Nothing he said is true and I hope nobody fell for it. Although he may be safe to commit his crimes in Mexico, I hope he goes in to our database as the thief he is and that he is never allowed in to the United States for any...

Specialized Black Friday sale through the weekend

That may be possible as the higher end bikes probably do not sell at anywhere near the volumes the lower end bikes sell at. Speaking only for myself, I purposely went cheap when I bought my Vado because it was my first e-bike. I wasn't sure what I was getting in to, so I intentionally went...

2022 Turbo Vado and Turbo Tero comparison: Same bike?

Yep, and I am guessing a lot of Tero buyers will do exactly that. When I read about the new Tero back when it was released in late September that is exactly what went through my mind. I use my Vado for city riding but I grew up riding off road and, while I am too old to go flying off jumps or...

2019 Turbo Vado 4 - Broken Frame (Resolved)

I am glad they took care of you. I also have a 2019 Vado, but mine is a 3.0 and I bought it brand new in April of this year. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have the same problem, but I know it is not uncommon. I specifically hunted down a new 2019 Vado 3.0 because of the better...

Specialized Turbo Tero Step-Through 3.0 Review (Demo Ride)

I wish I could buy the 2020 Vado 3.0 ST in Storm Gray that is behind the Vado SL 5.0. That looks like it would be the perfect bike for my girlfriend. And a 2019 Vado 3.0 ST would be even better (better components and stronger motor)! 👍

Very pleased with new Como 4.0 650b

I am actually familiar with Chicago's western suburbs. In the mid-80s I worked for Arthur Andersen and I had several opportunities to visit their big training facility along the Fox River, just north of St. Charles. I spent a total of 4 weeks there across 1985, 1986 and 1987. It is a very...

Very pleased with new Como 4.0 650b

I have a 2019 Vado 3.0. I live in California's central valley which is very flat and might as well be Oklahoma. I don't have any trouble riding in Eco and my regular route around the little town I live in along the Stanislaus River has only one small hill (rise) I climb. I am normally riding...

Very pleased with new Como 4.0 650b

Most of my riding is on flat terrain, too, but just like Stefan, I try to always keep my bike in ECO. I do this for two reasons: 1) so I am getting a workout keeping my speed at 14mph, and 2) to extend my small 460wh battery range as far as possible. On my ride along the Monterey Coast Trail...

    New 2022 Vado 5

I stopped by my local bike shop yesterday after work and the owner told me he has orders for 9 2022 Vados already (I didn't ask which models) and has also been told he will not see them until April.

This is great advice and it is something I had not thought of, so thanks!

2022 Turbo Vado and Turbo Tero comparison: Same bike?

My guess is once you have the Vado 5.0 you will never look back. It is not cheap, but it is a solid and very capable choice with good hardware and I am betting once you have it, you will love it. That is my 2 cents.
