You can solve all of these problems with a Topeak out front water bottle mount, attached to your frame at the bottom. It's what I did to keep the stock rack. Adds a mounting point for panniers that want to "grab" something.

Juiced sells a rear tire removal tool, which is a uniquely shaped wrench. You can get the rear wheel off with a normal wrench but risk rounding the corners of the bolt due to the angle.

They sent me a box to send my battery back in. One thing I've learned, the support can be bargained with. If they want you to pay for return shipping, be very adamant about not doing so and they'll probably back down.
