RadRover Upgrades - Torque Sensor / Hydraulic Brakes / More

That is correct, the master cylinder is part of the caliper, and can be actuated by any standard cable brake setup. They're well thought out, installation is ridiculously easy, and they work just as good as full hydraulic brakes. The primary reason I chose them is that I could retain the OE...

RadRover Upgrades - Torque Sensor / Hydraulic Brakes / More

I upgraded the brakes on my Radwagon to TRP HY/RD cable actuated hydraulic brakes. It's basically no more involved than swapping calipers as one may retain the OE levers and cables.

Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I Understand that, and went with Rad Power Bikes because they offer the best balance of price, and quality for my needs. With the upgrades and modifications I've made, I feel my Radwagon is now just as good as a Yuba, or Extracycle, yet still less than half the price. I replaced it with a...

    UNPIN the known problems post

No, it is the prerogative of the site owner, the rest of us are just guests, and it's incredibly arrogant to label it as laziness because it not only slanders the site owner, but those of us who agree with their decision.

It doesn't seem reasonable to expect an entire website to conform to one individuals point of view as if no one else matters.

That's outrageous, saying you did it on purpose. I hope you have both the cops, and a lawyer on this. She needs a harsh lesson.

Sorry you got hit, hope you're ok, a co worker got hit last week too. His bent got totaled, and his foot is broken, classic right hook. They say things come in 3's, I hope I'm not it.

    Radwagon fixes, upgrades, modifications

When I mounted the straps and buckles, I used leather working hammer rivets for most of them. If I were to do it again, I would use panhead screws and acorn nuts instead.

    Radwagon fixes, upgrades, modifications

I kept one OE rotor, and trying a shimano rotor, and have the TRP HY/RD 180m rotors on order because I could only find them with 140m or 160mm rotors at the time I ordered them. Other than trimming the opening and and adding a spacer to the wheel guard so the cable can be rerouted, there's not...

    Radwagon fixes, upgrades, modifications

I got the cable actuated hydraulic brakes installed, wow, what a difference. A lot stronger and more progressive...and no more manual adjusting! The front was super easy to install, literally easier and faster than adjusting the OE brake. The rear was a little more time consuming as the wheel...

Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

My daily 16 mile RT commute includes a mile long 15% to 18% hill (James st in Kent) and a couple of short hills close to 20% , I was having trouble keeping the OE axle nuts tight with those climbs and descents, and the nut threads were degrading. I've had the same issue on other bikes with IGH...

    Rear squeal sound

Great! Glad it was simple. Mechanical disc brakes are a fantastic value, eminently functional, simple, and reliable, but they do require a bit of extra care and attention.

    Rear squeal sound

Are you sure the disc isn't slightly warped? A well adjusted brake leaves very little margin for error in the disc.

Flat bars simply don't work for me. I changed to a Soma Sparrow bar with Ergon GP1 grips, and I no longer have issues.

    Radwagon fixes, upgrades, modifications

Next project will be TRP HY/RD cable actuated hydraulic brakes. By all accounts they provide the power, control, and self adjusting benefits of full hydraulic brakes without the need to replace the OE brake levers. Installation looks to be as simple as adjusting the mechanical brakes. A real...
