Depends what kind of winter you have. For snow and ice these are ok. Mine have 240 studs, size 28 x 1.60. I usually put in 4 Bar pressure.

I am guessing the battery will hold its charge better if it is kept in warm temperature. But based on my experience there isn't such a big difference even in subzero temperatures. Three four months absence is probably not going to be a problem, at least according to what Specialized advices.

You need a device (connects to the battery socket) and software to go with it and they are not available to consumers, so yes, you need to convince the dealer to change it. As a job it takes only 2 minutes, but they might have other reasons for not doing it.

I observed that the creaking can be heard on both pedal strokes. So, unless both pedals are bad it is coming from the bb.
