    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Ride1Up put out an email bulletin on the Core-5 and LMT'D today (First image). Same issue I pointed out in the first post of this thread (Second image). Easy enough to rectify - move the cable wrap so it cover the cables at the frame exit and then push the covering into the frame (Third...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

According to FB posts by the owner, upcoming/future shipments (August and beyond) will have this new controller/software. Thanks for the shoutout - in general, I'm finding that ebikes open up a lot more opportunity to get places I wouldn't otherwise go or see.

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Another quick update: I went out for an hour on the bike today to get more miles on the new controller/software. The bike behaves very very differently than it did before installing the 2.0 controller, in a good way. Same: Cuts through hills as it did before. My guess was that on hills...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

GenXrider - good question. Short answer: I’m using my original 500C LCD. Longer answer: I saw your post about how R1Up had switched over the LMT’D display from the 500C to the KD218 model for the next (2.0) batch of LMT’Ds. I noticed that this display provided a few additional advanced...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

For those that have been following the new Ride1Up LMT'D and this thread, this is a quick but important update. I received a new controller from Ride1Up today - with updated software that "changes the way the torque sensor integrates with the motor". I installed the new controller tonight and...

Absolutely - you made the right choice. I have no complaints.

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

For now, I'll say this - as posted on R1Up Owner FB pages by R1Up's owner - the next batch of LMTD's will have "tweaks and improvements we had time to make. Cable management, software, packing, and display are the main changes.." The headline in that list is new controller software...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

One month update. I'm at 150 miles and am still very happy with the LMT'D. I ride it almost daily - as long as the weather cooperates. Like many, I now work from home 5 days a week. My town has become super local - meaning people aren't doing a lot of traveling and they are sourcing things...

    New LMT’d - who’s in?

    500's wiring spec says yes.

    New LMT’d - who’s in?

They did the exact same thing on the 700 - not shocking. They started selling the 700 with the 500C and then transitioned over to the KD218. The KD218 affords a little more control over a few settings that I'm interested in. Mostly current. BTW, you can buy the KD218 from R1UP and add it to...

    New LMT’d - who’s in?

    I'd agree.

    New LMT’d - who’s in?

It's the other way around.... The cadence sensor only "sees" the magnets spin, making it not ideal for hills. The Torque sensor "feels" the resistance created by the hill and assists accordingly. The LMT'D is a breeze uphill - I stay seated and don't shift gears... just maintain my pedal input.

Then I would assume that date is for new purchasers and your ship date remains as estimated when you purchased. They may be getting several shipments/batches. Never hurts to reach out and ask them if your original stated ship date is still the expected target.

Were you notified that your order was now shipping August 25th? Or are new orders being placed now shipping August 25th?

RETURNING MY E-BIKE TO RIDE1UP. QUESTION ABOUT SHIPPING

Cars are definitely not the kind of “tech product” that I was I was referring to. Better example = computers. Companies pulled stock parts off the shelf, put them in their own custom case and depending on the vendor, buyers had to deal with getting everything to work together. Over time, some...

RETURNING MY E-BIKE TO RIDE1UP. QUESTION ABOUT SHIPPING

Asher - from a life-cycle perspective, I think e-bikes are in their infancy. When you look at other tech industries/products that took off, early on - they contained stock/off-the-shelf parts sourced from multiple vendors, used to create a product that was differentiated from other vendors only...

    New LMT’d - who’s in?

Rear rack for LMT'D - now available. Doesn't hold a candle to the 700 Series and 500 Series racks - which look WAY more integrated/custom.

    New LMT’d - who’s in?

Looks like you can add a bike-battery powered headlamp/tailight to the the LMT'D, that can be controlled through the bike's LCD display... The LMT'D's controller has an aux power source designed for this purpose...

    New LMT’d - who’s in?

Interesting - this controller allows you to set current limit (effects torque) and there are other settings that I think might dial in the LMT'D's motor torque/response when the motor comes on.
