Bosch gen 3 (65nm cruise) is it faulty? Or that’s just the way ebikes are?

In case I didn't express it well enough before... what you are experiencing is definitely not normal. I realize this doesn't solve your issue, but I want to give you peace of mind in knowing that this is something that can/will be taken care of when local logistics allow. I'm not familiar with...

Bosch gen 3 (65nm cruise) is it faulty? Or that’s just the way ebikes are?

When the time comes and restrictions allow, check out our Dealer Locator. Best to call ahead and confirm Bosch competency/qualification before making the trip, but the map should give you an idea of some options.

Bosch gen 3 (65nm cruise) is it faulty? Or that’s just the way ebikes are?

Could be a partially damaged battery power cable. Could also be partially misaligned battery mounts... it's not uncommon for the factory assembler to get the battery mounts close, but not perfect. Could still be thermal sensor (in battery OR drive unit), even if error code does not display on...

Bosch gen 3 (65nm cruise) is it faulty? Or that’s just the way ebikes are?

503 is unrelated to the thermal issue, though it's definitely possible to experience multiple issues at once. Most commonly... the spoke magnet gets bumped by something, and either slides down the spoke, rotates away from sensor, or both.

Bosch gen 3 (65nm cruise) is it faulty? Or that’s just the way ebikes are?

Ah, that's good to know. Sounds like it could definitely be something with a temp sensor that's not properly calibrated, or problematic otherwise. 23 C is not hot at all, relatively speaking, so unless you let it bake in the sun for a long time before riding, that should not be an issue. Do you...

Bosch gen 3 (65nm cruise) is it faulty? Or that’s just the way ebikes are?

The only thing I can think of (without seeing a Diagnostic Report) is that it may be a combination of very steep hills, and cadence that is too low. Purion does not have a cadence read out, unfortunately. Generally, 70-90 RPM is most efficient, though people often ride at lower cadences on the...

Bosch gen 3 (65nm cruise) is it faulty? Or that’s just the way ebikes are?

Hello! This definitely does not sound normal. - What assistance mode are you using? - What is your pedaling cadence while riding up the hill? - What specific Cube model do you have, and/or what is the Bosch model name on the drive unit? I recommend taking your eBike to a Certified Bosch...

Whats the voltage on the light output on the perfomace line motors?

This chart is perfect- publishing of voltage and wattage specs for each light allows for calculation of current draw. There is a similar one from Light & Motion that I've shared on EBR before, I'll try to track it down. I'll still recommend a little caution with any 3rd-party spec chart that...

Whats the voltage on the light output on the perfomace line motors?

Lumens is a measure of visible light, so no exact correlation to electrical measurements. Very odd that they don't publish those other specs. Maybe try emailing them to ask for the info? The older Gen2 DU's were 6v only, but pretty much all newer ones should be 6v/12v. What model year is your...

Whats the voltage on the light output on the perfomace line motors?

Most Bosch Gen2 drive units have the option for 6v or 12v, with selection being made by an IBD using the Bosch Diagnostic Tool. All Gen3 and Gen4 are 12v only. Current draw is 1500mA continuous/1800mA MAX for Gen2, and 1500mA continuous for Gen3/4. (1100mA front, 400mA rear) I took a look at...

    Bosch SmartphoneHub

Great info, and great explanation! Thank you for sharing. I may link back here in the future if anyone needs a good walk-through on smooth sailing with Strava. Regarding your last point, there may be an option for some folks here. OEMs decide what displays to order from Bosch and install on...

Bikes with Gen 4 Bosch Performance Line Speed

We are aware that some OEMs are distributing Class 3/ 28 mph eBikes in Canada, though I don't have specifics on what/where. As was mentioned, this is not in compliance with rules/regulations in Canada. I don't know anything about the likelihood or severity of fines associated with getting...

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

Thank you for the feedback. I don't know of any plans to add an additional assistance level, but as a few have mentioned, Nyon allows for this with the purchase of a "premium" feature. Through the eBike Connect app, you can fine-tune the assistance level at a given speed for all 4 assistance...

    Purion display mount

That's right! Those little secondary mounts have been around for many, many years. Great solutions for mounting extra lights on a crowded handlebar, getting something more visible, or whatever other relocation you might think of. I share this because it means there are numerous other options out...

    Purion display mount

Purion definitely has a pivot point. It is possible that Cannondale designed that eBike to have the Purion attached to a 3rd-party mount. That 3rd-party mount may be what you are seeing clamped around handlebar without pivot. This is a fairly common solution used by OEMs for mounting Purion to...

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

Yes! Completely fine to ride with system ON, but no assist. The advantage to riding with the system ON, even without assist, is that you will have stats tracking, speedometer, lights, and the ability to quickly activate assist if needed. Glad I could help!

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

Hi Luto, Unfortunately, not likely. Our Gen3 drive unit already has essentially no resistance due to the one-way bearings it uses for power transmission between motor, gearing, and output spindle. Gen4 has a little bit more due to its different, more robust design, though neither Gen3 or Gen4...

Looking for iPhone 11 charging solutions with Smartphoe hub

Edit: [Just realized the original post was several months ago. In any case, hopefully my response will be a good reference for anyone else missing their charging cables.] Hi Wayne, The (3) different charging cables should be included with all SPH units, whether on a new eBike or as an...
