Vado 5 IGH problems on steep hill

So I have to say, after a number of rides this week on the FastRoad E.. this bike is PHENOMENAL.. its probably the best commuter pedal-assist bike I've ridden (havent ridden a Vado SL though), the FastRoad E is the first bike that feels like its a super-powered normal bike.. it just rides sooooo...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Has anyone ridden singletrack or green trails on your SL (with proper tires of course)? If so, what did you think in comparison to an FS bike?

    2021 vs 2022 Vado SL 5.0

The Vado or Vado SL can take two chainrings? Also, how do you find the motor noise Stefan? I read that the Creo is loud but the SL is quiet.. but its the same motor lol

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

31/32 is a pretty good top speed for a 38t so thats a great thing

    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

With any of these 40lb bikes.. Topstones, Giant Revolts, Niner RDO's, Trek Domane HP's etc.. Can any be feasibly ridden in off mode with minimal effort (a casual ride with non-E riders perhaps)? ie or will you regardless feel at least a slight drag of the motor vs an acoustic bike of the same...

My New Niner RLT e9 RDO!

Hi, how do you feel the bike pedals off of the motor? Is there still a slight resistance or does it feel pretty minimal going from say ECO to off?

Turbo Levo vs Turbo Levo Comp?

There's also another member that commutes or commuted on his Levo as well: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/new-bike-day.41184/ Full suspension rear rack options: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/how-to-fit-a-rear-rack-on-a-full-suspension-bike.31363/

Vado 5 IGH problems on steep hill

Neither. I was referring to IGH's that weren't calibrated. Whether its on the user or the shop is a different issue, but the OP calibrated theirs and their issues were eradicated. Another user (Onimaru), didnt calibrate their's and is satisfied with the bike's performance.

Vado 5 IGH problems on steep hill

Thank you; Calibrating seems like it may make a huge difference on the IGH. I didn't calibrate mine, I don't think Guru did either.. very interesting

Vado 5 IGH problems on steep hill

@Joshelley, you calibrated your IGH correct?

Vado 5 IGH problems on steep hill

The IGH just may be a bike thats better suited for less fit riders that can benefit from the limited gear range

Turbo Levo vs Turbo Levo Comp?

The Trek FS9 is the probably the only one besides the R&M superdelites that can do both: https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/mountain-bikes/electric-mountain-bikes/powerfly/powerfly-full-suspension/powerfly-fs-9-equipped/p/35175/ https://www.r-m.de/en-us/bikes/superdelite/ Actually Watt...

Turbo Levo vs Turbo Levo Comp?

If youre having issues with the roads and looking for suspension, you may want to look into the Vado line vs the Levo's.. When I started researching into ebikes a few years ago, I kept trying to make the Levo fit my commuter/light off-road use case, and it's really just not a good fit for that...

Vado 5 IGH problems on steep hill

As a point of comparison, I picked up a 2022 Giant Fast Road E+, I think its a 2022, but could be a re-distributed 2021 (https://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/fastroad-eplus-ex-pro-28mph-2022 they took the link down for the '22s) to see how the ride compared to the newer tech in the Vado.. and so...

Trek Allant 7 versus Giant Explore Pro

I wrote a bit about that here: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/considering-upgrading-my-allant-8s-to-a-specialized-vado-5-0-igh.47597/#post-520305 But essentially they're just imo, higher quality machines with better rides, quieter motors and better software. The allant's are good...

Trek Allant 7 versus Giant Explore Pro

They're pretty comparable bikes, so it comes down to aesthetic preference and software. Bosch is slightly better in that dept. but not great unless you upgrade the display to a Nyon(around $300usd). Neither will struggle on any but the steepest of hills. At that price point, you may also want to...

[UN-RESOLVED, Again!] Specialized "Rider - I Don't Care" Support is non-existent, what is YOUR experience? (poll) (NEW SYSTEM IN PLACE 4-21-22)

Theyre squeezing the LBS for whatever reason, and I think it will be to their detriment when they are met with endless amounts of returns and halfworking bikes.
