    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

Its moreso imo.. that the Vado SL for example.. you pedal a half-turn or full, and you immediately feel a semblance of boost 100% of the time that you pedal whether its 1% or 100% power.. there is no point in which you feel the motor isnt working if youre in PAS 1+. On these bikes...

In my experience the sensor on this bike, operates identically to other cadence sensing bikes ive owned and tried

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

Pedaling the bike you can discern its a cadence sensor installed vs the listed torque sensor. There is no natural motion to the motor engaging; you actually noted this first in your initial review

There isnt a torque sensor unfortunately, and this should really be addressed with Trek, as its literally false advertising

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

Stefan nailed it. FX+2 you can pedal off motor with a bit of effort, although it rides well in PAS0 or Off.. it doesn't feel like a regular bike imo (or it feels like a heavy MTB). It can be done however and its kind of fun/challenging and its not tough to do so. The Vado SL feels like a normal...

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

Hi, imo if you can afford to get the Vado SL, even used with low miles.. it's just a better overall bike and you will get better range with the additional battery extender. The motor is MUCH louder on the SL(FX is relatively silent) and you won't be able to climb as steep of hills unless you...

Finally got the Aventon Soltera 7-speed...

The mechanical brakes are also spongey/soft on some Soltera 7's and need to be serviced by a shop upon arrival. It's an otherwise fantastic bike

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

So I have to say.. I really really like the FX+2 and would already consider it easily the best under 45lb (XL weights 41lbs), ebike that's also under 3k.. and would actually make for a pretty good fitness bike if you get the Dual Sport without the extra weight (fenders, rack, remove kickstand)...

@Richard Stallard Whenever you have a sec, would you mind taking a pic of your front light from the bottom angle, I took mine off to install a suspension stem and can't figure out how it goes back on?

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

Since April: Vado IGH - Too heavy Vado SL - Too noisy Trek Allant already had this but sold Giant Fastroad E 2022 - THIS BIKE IS AMAZING.. but was concerned with durability.. few owners here had issues on 2021 model and they are the same Soltera 7 - I like it a lot but it has issues with spongey...

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

I hadn't heard of the Crosscore before now.. that's a really nice bike for a a good price. How do you like it overall and how's the motor noise if any? And does the 2x help with climbing more than 1x or it's relative?

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

Oh wow.. this is GREAT info.. I pushed it over 20 and didnt see any spin out but was in a pretty low gear. Maybe this bike doesn't need a 48 since it's locked to 20mph anyway

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

You nailed it.. this is why they're so intriguing.. It seems like a good base, that you can mod to fit various needs

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

@Richard Stallard You seem fairly knowledgeable on these bikes thus far.. Do you know if the FX will take a larger chainring? It comes with a 42T, but something like a 48T may be ideal Edit - Largest size without chainguard is 46t per Trek

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

I test rode both today.. and man.. they are really nice, smooth bikes.. near zero resistance pedaling off motor and light enough to go up moderate hills with zero pas or low pas.. Impressive pair of bikes

    Fitness Bike options?

Aside from the SL options from Specialized, is there a way to find other sub, 40pound ebike options? 99spokes is a great site, but it doesnt display weights for some reason.

Finally got the Aventon Soltera 7-speed...

    Appreciate the detailed info!

Finally got the Aventon Soltera 7-speed...

Thank you for this info.. I was about to go down the same rabbit hole RE shops.. its kinda unnerving because they really don't feel substantial at all. Would you mind giving insight into whats needed for a hydraulic conversion? And yeah I tried both the redshift and the Kinect over a few days...
