    Help please🤯

I was riding in Phoenix when I bought the bike and there were a lot of goathead needles and my previous non ebike I got a lot of flats (more than 5 in 2 years). Now that I ride in Illinois, probably not as big of a deal, but still nice peace of mind that I won't get a flat riding to and from...

    Help please🤯

Congrats on the bike, I got an Aventon Pace 500 and love it but if I got a do-over I would have bought the bike you bought (mainly for front shock and torque sensor). I put Tannus Armour inserts in my bike and they are nice. $100 or so installed, I got them for peace of mind and it's been a...

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Had a chance to bike downtown Chicago last week and also along the lake. Very impressed with the biking infrastructure! The lake had a separate bike path from the runners and walkers which I thought was really cool and had never seen before. Made for really relaxing biking along the lake not...

    Pace 500.3

You will have to let me know how that goes and the cost. I would have it installed by the bike shop but interested for sure as I plan to keep the bike a few more years and that’s the main thing I wish I had.

    Vanmoof pauses sales

i did like the design of that bike and my understanding is it was supposed to not look like an ebike to skate the rules in places banning ebikes, i have always been met with really positive interest everywhere i have biked which has been really nice and a fun conversation starter. i suspect more...

Let's shape the future of e-mobility innovations together

I would be all for heated handgrips, this winter my hands were pretty cold even with snowmobile gloves and bar mitts, I think heated handlebars with bar mitts would do the trick. I didn't find the need for a heated seat (had snow pants on) or heated pedals (wore boots and alpaca socks).

    How is your battery health?

2 years in on my Aventon Pace 500 version 1 with 2000 miles and battery health seems just fine and doesn't seem to have any range drop off at all. I have probably charged it 100 times so far. Fortunately I don't ride very far for my commute (under 5 miles) so even if the range dropped off I...

    Electric scooter trend?

I see a lot of these scooters and one-wheels, some ride safe and some ride really wreckless. The few times I rode on the rentable scooters I found them very unsafe feeling because you are kind of up and over the handlebars a bit. The biggest issue I had was you don't always see curbs/dropoffs...

Pace 500 leaky rear brake lever

Bike shop just installed tektro brakes on my aventon pace 500 and they seem very nice. They said the zoom brakes aren’t great and recommended the tektro. Out the door for $150 for the rear brake. Front brake works great still! Got two years out of it so not bad.

Aventon Pace 500 video update at 1200 miles and 8 months of ownership

At the two year mark now and 2000 miles and still love the bike, such a good value and more than paid itself off especially as a car replacement. Ride it 3 to 4 days per week to work and really enjoy the twenty minutes of solitude especially on my nice Mississippi River bike path. Still...

    Best wind noise solutions?

id be interested in a wind noise solution too that doesn't go on the helmet-maybe attaches to sunglasses somehow? thats one thing that surprised me at the ebike since im going much faster a little more wind whipping noise in my ears, sometimes ill slow down a bit and it goes away, and some days...

First Time Buyer with Decision Paralysis

Get torque sensing for sure. That was something I didn’t know to look for 2 years when I bought mine. I also wish I would have got front shocks for city roads. Hub motor vs mid drive hasn’t been as big of a deal to me, I got a hub motor mainly because my budget was sub 2k. If you have the funds...

'Zen Skunkworks' - a new model in the development

That’s an incredible looking bike! Great work. I can’t wait to buy one. As a daily bike commuter that checks all my boxes!

New RadMission Mid-Step on the way to me!

Great info and update! Glad to hear the bike is working so well for you! We also love ours after a little more than a year. Felt the same way when they put the bike on discount but oh well. Thanks for the recommendation on the handlebars, we also found they aren't the best so nice to hear about...

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Took my daughter to coffee shop for first time today! Problem is route home has pretty big hill. Came up with a fun little solution using my hamstring stretch strap. Worked perfect and felt very safe at 8 mph! She sang while we rode and said this is so much fun and even helped me a bit by...

What's your opinion on the "Idaho Stop" law?

This is what I do for the most part. Stop signs I roll through and red lights I treat as stop signs if there are no pedestrian walk lights or they don't work. Lots of red lights won't pick up bikes if they have the old saw cut monitors that detect weight and a lot of the pedestrian cross buttons...

Bike that can carry an extra rider

Nope ongoing still, thanks for asking and the ideas! we have tested out my older one on the ebike and he actually fits pretty well so that’s been a nice temporary solution. I’m tempted in a year or two to get a new ebike for myself and pass down one to my older kid.

    Electric Car thread

Agreed, we are looking to get a regular car for our next car and then think the one after that may be electric so 15 years from now or so. We will stick to ebikes for now. My wife is actually very concerned about the electric battery fire (whether justified or not it’s a real concern of hers...

    Electric Car thread

Great article and interesting for sure to read about norways transition to higher adoption. What is interesting to me is I’ve talked to quite a few people lately buying new cars and none have even considered an electric vehicle. Seems like a lot of folks are still buying regular gas cars.

Bike that can carry an extra rider

Thanks for the insight and glad you love it! This would be the route I want to go for sure if I do. I’ve been really impressed with lectric and their bikes.
