    Service needs and availability

Lived in a big city and moved to a small city. Both places had basic bike shops that could do general tuneups on normal bike components. Luckily haven’t had an electric issues. I’ve been surprised how basic the ebike really is and don’t expect many issues. Two years and 2000 miles and just basic...

    Winter Sucks

Was in sweats and hoodie on the morning commute with light gloves so it’s definitely cooling off. Feels pretty good in the cool crisp air. Ride home is still shorts and t-shirt!

how comfortable is that passenger seat? is it something that is easy to take on/off if we wanted to get the passenger and cargo packages and swap them from time to time?

I'll find out if it works..= Flat Out..........

horrible little things! used to get them in AZ, the worst sound in the world when you pull one out mid-ride and hear a loud hissing of air. i had luck with tannus armour liners. a bit expensive and added some weight and a softer feel to the tires, but overall was happy with how they held up...

Lbs refuses service due to insurance?

sorry to hear that! my lbs asked me to remove the battery and keep it with me and was real clear they couldn't work on anything electrical but did say the mechanical stuff would be no issue.

Battery Charging and Storage Options in the Heat!

The only change I’ve made is I put my charger on a metal wire basket to get some air flow under it because it was making the counter hot to the touch which made me nervous.

    Marin eStinson 2

That’s a good looking bike and looks super light and quick. I wouldn’t change a thing and would ride that for my commute all day long. I don’t care for fenders and just wear a backpack. Does the water bottle battery come off to charge or do you plug in to the bike?

Ebike Riders - We Need Your Help ($ for your feedback)!

I took the survey and it seemed pretty simple. The questions appeared to me to be in the spirit of “what would it take to get you to upgrade from an ebike to an electric motorcycle.” For me it’s really cost plus safety (I love using bike paths apart from traffic). I’ll let my wife use the gift...

    Is Sondors next?

I kicked around getting one and passed. Not shocked they may be going bust. I think the rollout of the metacycle was pretty rough and kept kicking out deliveries.

Can someone explain to me e-bike maintenance

I watch the tire air pressure and throw a little lube on the chain every 100 miles or so. The main thing I do is listen to the bike if there is anything that sounds/feel off during riding. All maintenance I have done by a local bike shop that I've built a good relationship with the owner, they...

Cost to recharge an ebike battery.

I consider it essentially free to charge! My work commute is 2,000 miles per year, at 25 mpg and $4 gas that is $320 savings in gas per year. The real savings is we only have one car for a family our four rather than 2 cars! Cars are $ expensive and getting more expensive every year! Plates...

Horn, Bell or Voice, how to warn others of your presence and intentions

I have a bell and often say on your left if I don’t see a reaction to the bell. I’ve noticed in the last couple years it really doesn’t matter as much because most walkers and joggers have AirPods in and don’t hear no matter what I use but I still do it as a courtesy.

looks like trek is jumping onto the moped style bikes

nice and functional as a car or moped replacement at that price point. I’ll have to try out one of the those flat seats but doesn’t look comfortable. As long as you don’t need insurance and registration for these types of bikes they will keep kicking them out Bd people will keep buying them...

    Tube vs. Tubeless on ebikes

i use tubes with tannus armour inserts, ive always been curious about tubeless but always too lazy to actually dig into them further than general curiosity. a someday project!

    Love Aventon ebikes even more!

nice looking bike, definitely like the price point for someone getting their first e-bike and unsure how much they will ride it or not, nice to see the torque sensor, the cadence sensor is the feature i dislike the most on my bike. nice to see they are offering a 2 year warranty now too!

California Assembly member proposes driver's license for e-bikes

Great points! Of all the places here in the US I have been in the last few years and always have fun observing scooter/ebike scenes (and participating), San Diego was the craziest and most reckless I've seen people ride on the e-bikes/scooters along the beach. I specifically remember a trip to...

E-bike battery fires and common sense prevention per Wall Street.

good video, i will say my charger is quite hot to the touch when charging and it's the factory issue charger. has always made me a little nervous and i put a little wire stand under it to help get some air flow under the charger.

California Assembly member proposes driver's license for e-bikes

interesting, i've got an 11 year old and i would say i'm about a year or two away from being comfortable enough to let him get on the ebike after making sure he can prove to me he understands the different settings and power levels, i would love to get him an ebike that has minimal power output...
