Thanks Stephan, I really didn't want to go out to the garage in this dismal weather to check. I just received a Jackery generator for car camping in the minivan. Its a nice compact mobile generator when no electricity is available. New toy and my mind wanders off.

A curious thought. I guess i could test it out myself by strapping on a Jackery generator on the rear rack, plug in to a nearly depleted bike battery and seeing if it moves. Stop your laughing...

I see that Giant also sells a SyncDrive Core on some eBikes. As these motors evolve Giant will need a naming standard to distinguish from each other.

I don't think the 2021 Explore E+ 2 has the Syncdrive Pro motor. In fact I don't think it even has the Syncdrive Sport motor.

Great but I find it rather dismal that Giant struggles with such a basic plug-in feature. I swear a high school voc-tech would had that problem dialed-in and working in no time. I'm an analog guy living in a digital world.

Yes, well it was discovering what caused app to fail, then no need to change display because load finished.

I found that if the screen goes dim or off while updating the app will fail. My workaround was to tap the screen every few seconds while running the update until it finished the load.

Another new RideControl app installed on my partner's 2019 LaFree E+1. Update when smooth and finished in a couple minutes. No test rides yet.

The Explore PRO 0+ and 1+ is a different line of eBikes . It even has it's own frame not shared with the rest of the Explore line.

Giant's Explore Pro 0+ was 500wh but it still had an optional add-on power pack. In 2021 Giant increased Explore Pro 1 + range by a huge increase to 625wh main and whatever add-on power pak.

Plus that model comes with a 625wh main battery.

Nice to have it and not need it rather than need it but not have it.
