    Best wind noise solutions?

I am no fan of Cat Ears. Tried and discarded. Agree! I am a big fan of a skull cap pulled down over the ears and/or bacalava — totally negates wind noise, but find that type of ear covering a bit too warm in the summer.

    Best wind noise solutions?

Try searching Google for bicycle wind noise — much discussion, many products. Some audiologists claim wind noise to be a contributing factor to hearing loss.

    Best wind noise solutions?

Have you tried regular safety earplugs? Flesh colored are available. They don’t cancel all noise, just deaden high frequencies and amplitudes.

I thought Class 3 would feel safer on the road

How do these comments have anything to do with the initial post? Let’s stay on topic.

    Tire pressure question

Once a comfortable lower pressure is established, be sure to check it at least weekly, but better prior to each ride. The remembered resistance to a strong caliper-like finger & thumb squeeze is often a reliable pre-ride reference.

Which spare parts needs to fix this motor?

For sure you will void any motor warranty with mods. At your projected speeds (although 56kph is not overly fast) I would be far more concerned for tires and brakes than motor.

I thought Class 3 would feel safer on the road

A good question may be: what do we do when driving our cars and encounter a bicycle? Like you, I most often ride ~25+mph but recognize I could be doing 45mph and the driver behind will deem it necessary to pass. Maybe it is a case of thinking a quick pass will restore a safe lane for the biker.

    Tire pressure question

You can run your tires — especially your wide tires — safely at a lower pressure. Try 30psi, or even 25psi. I often ride at 20-25 on similar tires. No risk to tires, but I weigh 150lbs, bike weighs ~65lbs. This is a common practice to smooth the ride over pavement cracks, etc.

Which spare parts needs to fix this motor?

Welcome to the forum! I concur with fooferdoggie, don’t worry about your motor. Thinking I had a bearing failure within my Bosch motor, neither my LBS (local bike shop) nor my local Trek mechanics would even consider opening the motor case. 10k miles on my Bosch motors and still going strong...

Is there an E-bike Insurer that is not Markel?

Your assumptions are incorrect. My State Farm policy covers the retail price paid including purchased add-ons, for the life of the policy. Covers stolen without stipulations, e.g. being locked within my garage. Covers repairs back to retail price paid. This is not under my home owners policy...

Is there an E-bike Insurer that is not Markel?

I insured through State Farm. No deductible, no depreciation.

Canada to restrict class 3 ebikes to 20mph

I totally agree having owned a class 1 that I much prefer my class 3. I am 72 yrs old and I am a sprinter and like to go fast although ALWAYS slow down when encountering others on foot, bike, or car. Just ride smart on the bike of your choice.

Hitch rack for Superdelite with fenders?

No argument from me. Kuat’s Piston Pro was not available when I bought my NV. I suggested to Kuat for 2 yrs to add lights but they said no. But now they do. I added my own light bar.

Hitch rack for Superdelite with fenders?

My Kuat NV 2.0 works great with fenders. Have traveled cross-country 4 times. Easy on — easy off. Very stable. .

    Trek Verve+ 2 or Momentum Transend E+ ?

The Momentum’s Internal Geared Hub sounds attractive. Be sure to check your dealer’s recommended maintenance program. And, don’t forget to buy the optional kickstand.

    Trek Verve+ 2 or Momentum Transend E+ ?

Given you are commuting, consider lights, bell, luggage rack. All standard equipment on the Trek. My wife rides the Verve+2 with over 4k miles. Not a lot of miles but all worry-free. We have no experience with the Momentum but it looks like a decent bike. I had a Verve+3 and sold it for a Trek...

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Winter riding in the Phoenix area is great. Yes, we must travel our bikes to most trails, but the local cities and counties have built many beautiful asphalt paths along the many canals and “washes.” They have also adorned the pathways with myriad desert plantings. Our favorites include, Indian...

    Trek FX+ 2 or Verve+ 2?

The front light on the Verve is more than adequate for night riding on streets and maintained paths, however, with most bike lights the width of the projected beam is narrow. Per the weight of an ebike: one suggestion I offer to new riders is to always compress the brake lever when getting on...
