The Cobi/Bosch phone mount on the allant 8s is one of the very few weak points on the bike. The spring mechanism on mine broke twice and since then I use a generic phone mount and haven’t had any problems since.

Has specialized addressed their cracked frames and their most recent voluntary recall where the front wheel and fork literally disintegrate from the bike? Just an FYI I’m a big fan of both Trek and Specialized and I think their two of the most reputable and reliable brands...

No hub issues to report on my allant 8s. I got caught in my first rain downpour two weeks ago too and all good.

Even if he does FedEX will find a way to break something 40% of the time. I have had numerous bad experiences with FedEX in multiple countries I lived and worked, USA, Belgium, Greece always issues with FedEX. DHL and UPS are the way to go imho.

You can just put the NYON on the allant8s, it is compatible. Dallant has two 2021 Allants and a 2022 trek rail so he’s more than qualified to comment here on trek’s range of e-bikes even if he doesn’t have the specific model in question.

Bafangs quality control, durability and reliability is notoriously bad. The shortcomings you are experiencing is normal performance from bafang but not so from other more reputable manufacturers like Bosch,Shimano,Yamaha and brose. How long ago did you make the purchase? Maybe you can send it...

Only thing I’m steamed about is the over the air updates. That can be retroactively applied to our existing Gen4 motors.
