    NuVinci N360

Anyone who wants to try the N360 can buy it on ebay.....free delivery for $199.50. I just bought 3. I plan on building a rear wheel for my original BBS02 36V 500W motor. Even though the N360 is rated to 250W and I'll be using it on a 500W motor, I believe there's a work around if you have the...

    Lithium Cycles - Super 73

I don't believe anyone would want to peddle it for any length of time sitting down. So as a bicycle it leaves a lot to be desired. Court J.

What do you expect from an E-bike?

True.... The only way to stay under $2,000 and end up with a performance ebike is to DIY. Most name brand bikes are far beyond the $1,500 price point. It would be nice to see a lower cost reasonable quality performance bike around $2,000, but it probably is a stretch. Court J.

    Radwagon rear spoke tension adjustment

Get the TM-1 Park Tension Gauge, use the provided chart to tension the spokes according to the wheel manufacturer's specification. If the vendor that sold you the bike can't provide the tension spec. for the wheel I'd say you have a problem. Plucking the spoke and "comparing the sound" with...

How Important Is Electronic Gear Change Sensing (shift sensor)?

If you have the programming cable for the Bafang BBS drive you can program the stop delay time in milliseconds. I have programmed my drives with zero stop delay so the motor stops as soon as I stop pedaling. I use to use the "clutch" method which worked, but reprogramming the controller makes...

How Important Is Electronic Gear Change Sensing (shift sensor)?

On a mid-drive configuration, stopping the motor prior to shifting is important. On a hub motor not needed. Court J.

why do folks want a higher watt motor?

I think for the majority of people.....probably not much. If you ask a lot of people who live in the city they might say; "what's the point of owning a car, I do fine without one"? My point, everyone's circumstance is different. If you live in a rural area where distances between destinations...

    My Next Build

It is fast! I rode it to work this AM...14.5 miles over varied terrain at 22 MPH average speed. The best I have done previously is 20 MPH. When it's pulling 1200+ Watts I'm able to pedal up any of the inclines with very little loss of speed, but it does eat the battery reserve and the motor...

    Bloomberg article ebikes

I agree...to a point. In 2015 there were over 17 million bicycles sold in the USA, 12.5 million were bikes with 20" wheels or larger. These bikes were used on the same paths, trails, and streets used by ebikes. Court J.
