True.... The only way to stay under $2,000 and end up with a performance ebike is to DIY. Most name brand bikes are far beyond the $1,500 price point. It would be nice to see a lower cost reasonable quality performance bike around $2,000, but it probably is a stretch. Court J.

If you have the programming cable for the Bafang BBS drive you can program the stop delay time in milliseconds. I have programmed my drives with zero stop delay so the motor stops as soon as I stop pedaling. I use to use the "clutch" method which worked, but reprogramming the controller makes...

It is fast! I rode it to work this AM...14.5 miles over varied terrain at 22 MPH average speed. The best I have done previously is 20 MPH. When it's pulling 1200+ Watts I'm able to pedal up any of the inclines with very little loss of speed, but it does eat the battery reserve and the motor...

I agree...to a point. In 2015 there were over 17 million bicycles sold in the USA, 12.5 million were bikes with 20" wheels or larger. These bikes were used on the same paths, trails, and streets used by ebikes. Court J.
