Show us pictures of your cockpit!

I upgraded my Yamaha Cross Core to Shimano XT brakes. I had already upgraded the stock mechanical calipers to TRP Spyers, which was an improvement over the original calipers. The XT setup is a night and day difference. The cockpit is still pretty clean.

    Yamaha Cross Core Brake Issue

I finally bit the bullet and converted my Cross Core to hydraulic. I went with a Shimano XT setup. I feel that the upgrade was worthwhile. The install was straight forward, the bleed was easy and the performance is great. I didn’t need to go with the XT level, but there was a good deal from...

looks like trek is jumping onto the moped style bikes

It looks like they are ok with selling it, but not with putting their name on it. Watching the video is enough to make my knees hurt. I feel that it won’t be too long before we see lawsuits for knee and hip injuries. The fixed seat height should be a nonstarter for anyone that intends to...

Addmotor's new mid drive 1000W split rear differential trike

Addmotor doesn’t have a “split” differential. It may be a limited “slip” differential, but they call it a “speed” differential, (whatever that is supposed to mean). Addmotor doesn’t provide any information about their differential and none of these tricycles are even available yet...

Not me, I liked the comforting green too.

Cane Creek eeSilk Suspension Stem and Seat Post

A little update: I had been happy with my Carbon eeSilk, so I bought an alloy eeSilk+ for my eBike and put the Carbon eeSilk on my gravel bike. After a very short time the eeSilk+ started creaking. It’s clean and I applied some dry lube, but it still creaks and the linkage is sloppy, (it...

    Groundbreaking Trike?

Actually, you asked people to be critical, (your third post on the thread: “...we would also appreciate any no-holds-barred commentary concerning the negative aspects of our purchase or any alternative product that should have been considered. We are old and can (somehow) take it!!!. (no...

Difference between adventure and touring cycling?

I fully agree. It’s sad that so many do not. The Earth will be fine after man is extinct, and not before.

Difference between adventure and touring cycling?

Pretty wet, but improving. The air quality goes up and down. You must be having a hard time with the air. Strange year. I hope that this isn’t the new normal.

Difference between adventure and touring cycling?

An adventure is just another word for a poorly planned trip. For me, life has been an adventure.

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

This is not a stream. The rocks are from hurricane Irene, (12 years ago). The stream is normally behind the trees to the right. This is just a flooded field. This is normally a trickle in the summer. The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail remains closed for assessment and repairs. I had planned...

No sensory overload. The inner bar ends add to the function of the suspension stem, (increased lever arm). It’s a bit more cluttered than I would prefer, but very user friendly.

Varia radar mount ? … to license plate bracket ?

I chose a simple solution that someone had posted online. You use a soldering iron to pierce the bag the bag and attach the mount using cable ties. I have also added a Silicone tethered cover. The saddlebag height is good for visibility. Here is a borrowed tutorial:

    thoughts/suggestions on bike work stands

I saw this on another forum. It’s a bit expensive, but could be worth the investment for a person with multiple bikes to service. https://www.topeak.com/us/en/product/1513-PREPSTAND-eUP-PRO

Cane Creek eeSilk Suspension Stem and Seat Post

After putting about 2300 miles onto to eeSilk Carbon seat post, I moved it along to my Carbon acoustic gravel bike and replaced it with an alloy eeSilk+. The Carbon post is and has always been silent. The alloy plus model groans and snaps a bit. I will be taking it apart and adding some...

    Rode my acoustic today.

My comment was just meant as a caution. The frame on that bike could very well be made ate the same facility as Canyon or Specialized, I just wouldn’t take the chance. Just as an informational note, Canyon ships this Grizl with a 30mm spacer stack beneath the stem. I think that they advertise...

    Rode my acoustic today.

Not all carbon frames are good, or even safe. There is a lot of science and testing that goes into the design and manufacture of a carbon frame. Sometimes taking a chance on a bargain bike can cost more in the end, (and be dangerous). I still ride my Wilier Carbon road bike and my Canyon...

If I Only Knew Before I Bought a Kommoda

Yamaha’s key is for removing the battery only. I think that a key as an on switch would be annoying for many and still allow the bike to be pedaled away by a thief, (or just get put into the back of a truck).
