Finally Found and Ebike I Want, But There Are None Available

Thanks, J.R. I'll check those out. BTW: sizing is different between the Quick and the Tesoro. I take an XL in the Quick, but only a L in the Tesoro. Must be different geometry. Thanks again. Thanks, Mulezen. The Super Commuter is a great bike for sure, but I would put it over the weight...

Finally Found and Ebike I Want, But There Are None Available

I wanted to get an "American" ebike with a good dealer support system, so I looked at Trek, Specialized, and Cannondale. I wanted a Class 1 machine, (so I could ride it in Pennsylvania, especially on bike paths) a 500 watt motor, (preferably Bosch) and a bike that could transport my 250 pound...

Cannondale Tesoro Neo 3. v. Cannondale Quick Neo EQ:

Thanks, SoCalDave, for that excellent review of your bike! You've given me lots of good information and lots to think about. I presently have a Stromer V-1/St-1 from about 2015-16. It's a great bike, but Stromer's support network in the USA seems more than a little thin. I'd like to get an...

Thanks, Seniorchief93. I did see some pictures of Raleigh Detours. Nice looking bikes.

Cannondale Tesoro Neo 3. v. Cannondale Quick Neo EQ:

I'm trying to evaluate both from a distance. I could travel a couple hours to see and maybe buy a leftover 2019 Quick Neo EQ at a good price, but the seemingly "do it all" Tesoro Neo 3 in my size (large) is all sold out for miles around and won't be available until November, or so I've been...

Ebike Weight Limits That Include The Bike?

Thanks, Stefan. Good advice. Ever ride a Cannondale Quick Neo EQ?

Ebike Weight Limits That Include The Bike?

"At present" refers to 2020 model Specialized ebikes. I believe Sierratim is correct that the Vado 2, which is no longer being built, was a Class 1 bike.

Ebike Weight Limits That Include The Bike?

Just called Specialized Customer Service. At present, all Vado models are Class 3 bikes. The Como 3 is a Class 1 bike. The Como models 4 and 5 are both Class 3 machines.

Ebike Weight Limits That Include The Bike?

Must be York County. Beautiful country.

Ebike Weight Limits That Include The Bike?

Thanks to everybody for this information. I SWEAR I recently saw a Specialized document that had a lower weight ceiling, but that must have been an older document. I appreciate the up to date info. The Vado would be a bike I would strongly consider, but I've been told they are all now Class 3...

Ebike Weight Limits That Include The Bike?

Hello. I'm thinking about getting an ebike that would be legal to ride on both roads and trails, including bike paths. Around here, that means a Class 1 machine. I really liked some of the Specialized and Trek models I read about (Specialized Turbo Vado and Como, Trek Allant Plus 7 and Trek...

Can a Class 3 Ebike Be Modified to Effectively Make it a Class 1 Ebike?

Something like that makes sense. I've heard that there are "switches" that limit the top speed to 20mph instead of 28mph, the top speed of many Ebikes in the USA. Not sure if these "switches" really exist. It would be nice if they did. If you were in a state or on a bike path with a mandated...

Can a Class 3 Ebike Be Modified to Effectively Make it a Class 1 Ebike?

Thanks for your input. Not sure, but I don't think Class 3 Ebikes have throttles. This would be a modification of a Class 3 bike with no throttle into a Class 1 bike with no throttle.

Can a Class 3 Ebike Be Modified to Effectively Make it a Class 1 Ebike?

Hello. If I find a Class 3 Bike that I really like, a Specialized Vado, for example, can its controller settings be modified to limit its top speed to 20mph, thereby making it legal in all states, on bike paths, etc? Thanks.

Need info on 2015 or 2016 Stromer V1 Elite with ST1 Frame

Hello. Back in 2016, I bought a "leftover" Stromer at a great price. The bike was new and I believe it is a Stromer V1 Elite with an ST1 Frame. Stromer could not trace it for me with the serial number, but a Stromer rep in California told me that bike was sold to the bike shop in question...
