Let's talk about the NEW Photon Pro | UL Certified 1040Wh battery | 750W 52V Midmotor | 160 Nm Torque and Throttle

Kriti, that blue looks even better than I expected. Now I'm getting really excited to see my bike arrive. Any good news to share?

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

I'm going to switch my hoses over as well. Been on motorcycles too long to have it the other way. Actually if you had left the cover on(and left the fill/bleed screw in place) and simply just swapped the hoses you would have perhaps only lost one or two drops in the process. As you say the...

Do you have the latest version with the push button release? They make it look pretty easy on the website, but of course they would.

I’m thinking of recommending the suntour to a woman I know but she is only 120lbs. I need to make sure she gets the soft spring. Will be interesting to compare it to the Kinekt on my bike.

I'm going to say that the ST(short travel) looks like it's a bit sturdier with the shorter linkages and can handle more weight. It does give up a lot of travel to the LT, but I think almost 4" of travel on a seat post would feel weird if you were pedaling during bumps? If possible see if you can...

Drew, so far I've had a cast on three of my four limbs. Things with wheels have taken their toll on my old body lol. Slowing me down, but not stopping me ..yet. I like the idea of a sleeve so will hunt one down. Might also make it less attractive to a thief.

Two of the best I'm told. I went with the Kinekt partly as I'm in Canada so easier to just get it with the bike. Also they come with three sets of springs for different rider weights so you can dial it in the way you want. I'm around 160 lbs. so might need the softer ones. I've never ridden with...

Oboy I guess that explains why the pics of the new photon show a lot of tire clearance on the fenders. Must have changed something. Your seatpost should have the size stamped into it near the bottom. I think it will be 30.9 but no guarantees.

My rides will be 95% gravel rail trails too. I went with the johny watts tires. I hope this isn’t the same ones you have lol.

Curious about why you choose to change the fender? The handlebar stem I can see.

I have a raceface bar that is very similar to yours I plan to try. Also have a saddle waiting just in case. When you go for longer rides it all becomes more important. I hope to be able to put in 4-5 hour runs in.

I shift perhaps 200 time per hour when the terrain calls for it on my MTB. I couldn't imagine doing that with a very swept back handlebar, maybe you are on to something . For sure my bars are getting swapped out pretty quickly for a set with around 8-10 degrees of sweep. That's what I'm used to...

I'm going to be interested in the outcome of this. I read that you need to back off the pedals(to get the motor to back off) when shifting, and I also read that you have to be pedaling(or at least moving) to get the entire range out of a shift? Also have watched a video or two that shows the...

Drew, this is one of my concerns about this bike too. What do you mean by limited range at one time? Do you mean the twisting action runs out of range in one go on the shifter itself, or something else? My Shimano SLX rapidfire shifter only allows three gears in one sweep of the thumb for...

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

I think you are both right about the Dorado/Orion variants with the levers being the difference. I was curious as always so went to the Tektro site.. talk about confusing. They have updated most of the lineup to be able to use 2.3mm rotors AND 5mm thick pads. The beefier calipers/pads and rotors...

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

I suspect that you are getting a lot more water into your brakes commuting in Seattle than I will. hopefully I will need to work on them less. When your caliper pumped out fluid did you take it apart to replace the piston seals? I'm curious where you might have sourced the parts if so.

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

Which model of brake are you using and what kind of riding are you mostly doing? I hope that my E725 ones are not high maintenance. I will rarely get them wet but they will see mostly gravel rail trails usage. Can be fairly dusty in the summer.

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

If the lever is firm then it sounds like the pads are toasted. You likely simply overheated them to the point of no return. At least new pads are not too expensive. There is one other possibility however, you say you sanded the rotor? If it's too rough now than the pads might be skimming along...

Wow you are getting a lot more rain than us in NS. My biggest issue is dust when an atv passes me. Cough. That kind of riding requires serious concentration.

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

I had a few minutes and was curious so I looked up your fork. Here is the link to a manual that shows how to set sag . It doesn't actually show how to service it however. I'm sure there must be one of those too, just didn't look. Any way try this one hope it works...
