Needing Trek (Allant+7/Verve+3) hitch Bike Rack recommendations...

Suspect issue isn't tighting knob so it clicks. This is what happened to me. Now have one handle bar 1" shorter than the other. Can vouch for strength of wheel straps. If you use drop release to access trunk make sure you pull test rack after clicking it back into place. Hadn't push mine home...

Error 640 on Bosch Powertube 500 battery after 1000 hours of use

Bosch chargers convert AC to DC before using DC-DV converter to isloate and drop voltage. This is how 99.9% of power supplies work these days. Hz don't matter and in lot cases will handle 110-240AC. The old heavy reliable transformers are long gone. They were Hz and Voltage specific.

    Brake lever extension?

An extension will reduce amount of piston travel available. Chances are won't be able to apply full pressure before lever hits handlebar. Wouldn't trust a bolt on extension as its likely to give when you need max braking force, Murphy's Law.

Battery safety education - Only you can prevent battery fires!

Preferred chemistry for storage batteries where weight isn't so important. Same goes for new house batteries in RVs.

    Have you broken a chain?

Life time of cycling, mainly commuting, touring and MTBing, 25000kms of that riding is on middrives. Finally broke my first chain couple months ago on middrive, turbo and wrong gear at lights. Was easy fix with chainbreak tool and spare link. If I was worried about broken chains would buy...

TREK Powerfly 9.7 Lt Chain ring options

As Fooferdoggie said the Gen2 CX motors have 2.5 internal gear ratio which makes 15t =37.5t chainring. Changing chainrings is easy with tool mention. Likes of bike24.com or bikediscount sell a range of sizes from 14-20t along with tool. Unfortunately some bike manufacturers had chainrings with...

Is Vado Step Through truly a “Step Through “

Step through are so much easier to mount and dismount. I quite often scoot bike with one leg then slide the other leg through once under way, repeat for dismounting. Doubt you can do that with low step. Dropper posts are brillant for stop start traffic as you can lower seat and place both feet...

Error 640 on Bosch Powertube 500 battery after 1000 hours of use

Given they are both doing it, could be dirty contacts on bike, batteries and charger. Check male pins on bike and charger, clean with cotton bud and alcohol. If they were dirty plug charger in turned off with pins damp with alcohol, remove clean and repeat. Its about only way I can think of...

Do I have a problem with these tires?

I'd run 42 on rear. At max pressure difference in rolling resist between it and 38 is insignificant. Where 42 shines is dropping pressure for rougher surfaces eg gravel roads and rail trails, gives lot more comfort and traction.

Final 6 - Ready to Buy (Class 3, Mid-Drive, Front Suspension, Commuter, Packed Gravel)

Also test ride with your child, they make big difference to handling. Terns excel at load carrying. HSD sport is class 3 but not powerful enough for sustain riding at 28mph more for quick bursts to merge with traffic.
