The motor doesn’t need to be connected to the diagnostics software in order for the motor performance to be impacted. New motors will potentially go into limp mode and older motors will just be flagged for any warranty claims.

Thanks for the clarity Ravi. This is helpful. I know this was in process but I guess it just launched. I wonder if companies will do it. I think it could make sense for some, but if the ebike system is already UL I wouldn’t foresee the bike manufacturer going for it.

I don’t understand why they are boasting that they are the first. Bosch has been getting UL certified since 2014. It’s great that Panasonic is doing it and hopefully more seriously entering the market, but I think stating they are the first with UL is dishonest.

I believe the 2020 Haibikes will all be Yamaha and we might see the Bosch ones late 2020 or early 2021. No word on if and when we will se Flyon at the moment.

Have you considered getting the iPhone case to charge your phone on the bike. Alternatively you could also get a micro-USB to lightning cable to charge.

That’s exactly right. It’s overall more sporty but the assist level is lowered to 340% in the top assist. Unless you’re hauling very heavy loads the cargo line programming isn’t so ideal from my perspective.

I think it performs well. Probably not great for off-roading or really rough roads, but it smooths out most bumps really well. It's a bit beefier than their previous version.

The Cityzen is a speed bike, but this is 20mph, a little lighter and I believe they improved the fork. It's also a true low step.

Anders, just ask your dealer to reprogram the motor to the non-cargo line version. It will make a world of difference.
