The only thing that i think is vulnerable outside of warranty items, would be the tires, chain and pedals. But even if the chain breaks or pedals fall off (which they shouldn’t) the bike can still work just on the throttle to get back to your home base. If the tires go, you are in trouble.
I purchased a softer seat, a suspension seat post (redshift shockstop and a shim), a handle bar mirror, a handle bar phone holder, a crank guard and the NCM rear rack/front light assembly. Don’t forget the Chain lube and pedal/seat post grease.
It’s not coming from the pedals. Tightened them as you suggested, but they were already good. I put the bike on a repair stand, put PAS on setting 6, turned the pedals manually by hand to get above 20 mph and no noise. Got back on the bike, started to ride and the noise is back but only when the...
Per Leon Cycle FAQ:
Do I need to “break-in” my batteries?
Yes, the batteries used in our eBikes will need to have a “break-in” cycle consisting of ~ three discharge/charge cycles before they will reach optimum performance. This involves three complete discharges and three complete recharges...
I have the Moscow Plus 27.5 and hear the metal tinging noise when I hit 16mph plus AND pedaling. When I stop pedaling, the noise goes away even though I’m still above 16mph. I can’t identify where the noise is actually coming from, but it always sounds like the front of the bike. My bike is...
Got this from Leon Cycles. Was easy to install, but needed to take off battery connector part on frame to get to the hidden cable. Then had to fish it through the rubber gasket to connect to the front light.
Just installed my new NCM rack and light set
If it’s the same cable I’m thinking about, the smaller cable is for the front light attachment sold separately. I just purchased the rack and light kit and needed that cable to attach the light.
If anyone is looking to purchase a 48t crank guard for their bike, I purchased this one from Amazon and it seems to fit fine. NiceDream68 Bicycle Bike Cycling Chainring Sprockets Cranksets Guard Protector 48T 4bolts-120mm
Just finished assembling my Moscow Plus. The box was beat up in shipping and the pedals fell out somewhere along the line. Spoke to support staff at Leon Cycle and they were very helpful - sent me out a new pair 2nd day air. Lubed and greased everything that I was supposed to and off I went...
Leon’s bikes just sent me an email that states bike racks for Moscow and Plus are now available for shipping. Just purchased mine - $69US includes shipping.
Thanks John. Can you explain what you mean 28T, 38-14 and 48. I’m a novice. I only know the left shifter (for front crank) goes between 1 to 3 and the right shifter (for rear hub) goes between 1 to 8. The lower the number, the easier it is to pedal. And I know not to have the chain too far...
With 24 gears to choose from on this bike, what gears do you actually use? Does anyone actually take the motor off (save about 9 pounds of weight) and just ride it as a bike? Not that I plan on doing it, but just curious.
Moscow Plus. It was mentioned in one of the online reviews that there is no chain/bash guard on the front crank, so you could get your pants snagged, dirty or even cut from the teeth. I saw a picture that someone posted and his leg was all cut up from making contact with the teeth on the cog...
Has anyone had any issues with cutting their leg on the front crank, as there is no chain/crank guard? Tried looking online to purchase a chain guard for a shimano FC-M311 42 tooth, but couldn’t find one. Any recommendations?
Hi all. I’m new to the forum and appreciate all the reviews. Just ordered a Moscow plus and just curious about unboxing and setup experience. Watched NCM unboxing video and looks doable for a novice like myself. The video doesn’t mention lubing/greasing of chain, crank and other parts. Is that...
