Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

The last sentence in your post is very revealing. The voltage should go down, not up, when you apply load. But you said it went from 48.7 to 51 volts. After a full charge you should see a little over 53 volts under no load, and a volt less at around 600 watts. I'm not really sure if you...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

It’s even easier than that. Not only is there no axle nut on the disk side, you don’t even have to remove the cogs! Not counting wheel R&R, this is a 5 minute job. Yes, I have done it. And it’s not hard to find the assembly. Costs 25 to 75 bucks depending on how long you want to wait...

    CCX Spoke Replacement Instructions/Tips

Make sure the bike shop stress relieves all the spokes. If they don't know what that means or don't want to, find another shop. Your spoke broke for a reason. The reason is almost alway fatigue in high stress places like the elbows and nipple entry. Spokes can fatigue and break after just...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

John - Thanks for the answers. You're right that calipers are easier on the spokes. But 14 gauge or heavier stainless steel spokes will not break if the wheel is properly constructed, tensioned, and stress relieved. I did build my first last e-bike, but I'm happier with the CCS. I...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Congratulations. That sounds like a great deal. I found the specs on Calibike's Ebay listing -- it wasn't on their website Did you have to rewire any of the connectors? They do look a lot like Juice's. The specs says it will take a disk brake. Why are you switching to caliper brakes?

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Are you using the same hub motor? My CCS uses a Bafang BFSWX02. Nominally, it's a 500W 48V motor, but lots of DIYers run it at 1000W with 20A controllers. Interestingly, it's also rated at 250W with a 36v controller. These motors have been around for years. They can easily handle the 750...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

John, Sorry to hear about your spoke (and now hub) issues. The wear in the flanges pretty clearly is from spoke movement -- not just inward and outward as you have guessed -- but also from side to side as you accelerate and decelerate. The brake disk actually puts a larger twisting effect...

Interesting.... The table says it's supposed to be 58.4 for the L vs 60.2 for the XL, nearly 2 cm different. I checked again, still getting 60 cm for my XL. Is it possible that some of the other measurements in the table are off, like the wheelbase, which is supposed to be 1100mm? And...

I did it like this: I didn't use a level, and I guessed at the tube midpoints, so when I say I got 60cm, it was probably plus or minus 0.8 mm or so.

Good idea. I measured my XL and it's the same as the table, +- 60mm. The table says that if someone measures the M they're supposed to get +- 57 mm. I think the only possible way it could be different would be if the head tube length or fork length is different -- but from all the photos...

The handlebar height is the same for all three sizes, 41.5 inches. Your seat height will depend primarily on your inseam and how high you like your seat. As you say, the bars can move to where you want them with a different stem. I'm about the same size as you. I'm using a 130mm road stem...

No one wants to believe me ! No respect from my kids, either. Anyway: https://www.juicedbikes.com/products/crosscurrent-x Choose your size One of the most crucial decisions in buying a new bike is selecting the size that will work for you. The chart below is as easy as it gets.

Don't worry about choosing the wrong size. The only difference between the three sizes is the amount of seatpost that shows. The reach is the same. I choses an XL, but now wish I'd chosen an M or L so I could step over the top tube easier. Enjoy your new bike!

Love my CCS, losing patience with Juiced

You can access the screws holding the hub together with the 32t sprocket still in place (barely). The motor, axle, freewheel, and sprocket all come free together, leaving the external hub, spokes, rim, and tire behind. Taking the wheel off the bike isn't too bad. You unplug the motor...

    1st long ride

All good comments so far. Besides peddling more and harder, you just can go slower. If you look at the charts, at Level 3 you get about twice the mileage at 14 mph vs 24 mph. It takes almost no peddling effort at all to go 14 mph at Level 3. Even at the lower assist levels it's not hard...

    Service and delivery problems: Solved?

https://www.juicedbikes.com/collections/e-bikes/products/crosscurrent-x The wheelbase is the same, the tube angles are the same. The chainstays are the same length. The ETTs must be the same.

    Service and delivery problems: Solved?

The only difference between all three sizes is the length of the seat tube, which just determines the standover height (OK, also the minimum seat height as well). All that really changes is the angle of the top tube and seat stays. So the effective top tube length is the same for M, L, and...

Chain Keeper on the CCX can it be sold separately?

Shortening the chain is pretty easy, as is changing to a wide/narrow chainring. Your local bike shop will do this pretty cheaply if you don't want to. The parts cost will be about $50. It will also give you the opportunity to swap to a smaller chainring. You might want to do this anyway...

Love my CCS, losing patience with Juiced

Received the missing disk, bolts, and axle hardware yesterday, after finally finding someone in customer support who was willing to take ownership of the problem. She actually talked to someone in the warehouse and told them my situation. So after 5 weeks I'm back on the road again. Went...
