Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Just got confirmation that my RadRover is being shipped. I plan on having my assembly skills checked over by my LBS as well as gear indexing, brakes, etc. After reviewing this thread, I've added spoke tensioning to the checklist and emailed Rad for specifics. I got the following response: "When...

    US Manufactured Ebikes; Cost/Benefit Discussion.

IMO, we've become a nation of entertainers. Turn the TV on and there's nothing on but "The Voice", "So you think you can dance", "American Idol", etc. Granted, "So you think you can code" probably wouldn't have much of an audience, but from my chair it seems like the majority of young adults...

    Schwalbe Marathon 35 on Crosscurrent?

Glad to hear you didn't get the Marathon Plus. I put a pair of 700x35 on my Trek FX 7.2 and they're great for dry roads, but I have zero confidence in them in a turn on wet roads. I had Specialized Nimbus tires before and only 1 puncture in a full year of commuting and great grip in a turn wet...

Feel like your bike frame lettering is like a giant billboard?

By the simplicity of the 1-page website and fancy font, I figure they're making these at home. With that said, send an email and ask if they can do a set for the RadCity. They may ask you to take some measurements for them if they can't access a RadCity.

Feel like your bike frame lettering is like a giant billboard?

Not to get off topic, but the worst for me has to be the big "N' on New Balance shoes. I love their shoes, but the N just kills the aesthetics. Oh, and the first thing I remove after buying a car from a dealership is their license plate frame(s). If they'll pay me to advertise for them, I'll...

Feel like your bike frame lettering is like a giant billboard?

For those of you with the black RadRover, Hot Laps Graphics sells a "Carbon Fiber Stealth Graphic Kit", which conceals all the Rad advertising on the bike including the battery back. Ordering mine tonight.

Does Pedego ever go on sale?

Check and see if a nearby Pedego dealer has any Pre-Loved Pedegos for sale.

    Why is Pedego so popular?

I see a lot of satisfied Rad Power Bikes owners here on this forum, and there are those that have had issues. I'm certain that if I go through the Pedego brand forum I can find a fair share of Pedego buyers with issues too. What's important to me is how the company handles customer support after...

Three months with CCS: Good and Bad

I apologize if I mentioned this avenue to you before, but if you've exhausted all your options with JuicedBikes Support I'd recommend filing a complaint with their BBB office. Sometimes getting an impartial third party involved is what it takes to get a merchant's attention.

Upgrading Display from 800 to 850C - VoltBike, Radrover and M2S

Perhaps this can become standard equipment in the 2019 Yukon 750. I would say upgrade, but Voltbike doesn't offer any upgrades, which I would suspect slows down delivery if you're doing them here in North America after the base bikes are delivered from Asia. At least that's the way I would...

Upgrading Display from 800 to 850C - VoltBike, Radrover and M2S

Not sure if it was in a thread here on EBR or on Facebook, but someone did press all 3 buttons at the same time and Voltbike had to ship them a new display. If that's true, it sounds like VB has to base config the display for their bike.

Radmini versus Radrover for sharing with the family?

A test ride is always the best route when possible. I got to ride both the RadRover and RadMini while traveling on business to Seattle a few weeks ago from Honolulu. Ordered a black RadRover last Friday when they became available again.

Radmini versus Radrover for sharing with the family?

I think I'd rather know what the distance is between the top of the seat and the handlebars when riding. Keep in mind that Rad measures seat height from the pedal at its lowest position and not from the ground. A measurement I think is even more important is standover height. Are the members of...

    Is Voltbike still around?

Correct. Rad Power Bikes does not accept pre-orders, which I think is a smart move. A good portion of the EBR forum posts from new members in regards to Direct-to-Consumer bike companies has been with delivery dates not being kept. Rad avoids the whole issue and sells on a first come first serve...

Finally got my first E Bike

I'm 5'10" and didn't feel the handlebars needed any adjustment. On both models, I did raise the seat to get better leg extension. As for performance, they both did really well but the RadMini was definitely better on the steep hills and quicker from a dead stop thanks to the smaller wheels. I'd...

    Is Voltbike still around?

My plan was to go with the Yukon 750, but when I noticed people on Facebook and EBR mentioning having difficulty getting a hold of anyone at Voltbike I decided to go with the RadRover last Friday. They don't do pre-orders, so the black RadRover I ordered is actually in stock. I hope to get a...

Swapping 500 watt hub for the 750 watt hub

With Luna, I do have to arrange my own shipping and had a quote from the company my employer uses, which was pretty good. However, Luna stopped making the bike I was considering. After reading a lot of online reviews and finally getting to test ride a RadRover at Rad's Seattle store 2 weeks ago...
