    thoughts/suggestions on bike work stands

There are small, light mechanical lifts for motorcycles for $50 that will work wonderfully. This is a more expensive model: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200446269_200446269

New Line of Bafang Max Mid Drive Bikes

Fatty tires are way better than no suspension but not really close to good real suspension. If I was riding mine for regular bike use I"d want suspension.

    Step Thru frame

Pay attention to the type frame SC Biker shows. Many step throughs are VERY flexible from them "removing" the top tube. Nasty handling (at speed) step throughs used to the rule rather than the exception. Now I see more reinforcing in those designs MOSTLY, but NOT all. As you note, weight...

Can't seem to find the right combination of features

The old ideas of what type motor for what conditions means a whole lot less than it used to. Mostly because todays new generation of motors are so darned strong. Forget old speak about direct drive motors. Falco's has a 500lb load limit now and will out pull plenty of geared motors uphill...

Brose compared to Bosch, Yamaha and STEPS

And if you have such a strong e motor that you don't even have to work, I question what the good is in riding it? Some of us love to bicycle and we only want and need a slight extra shove to be very happy. Why do so many have to have the "strongest" or 'it's not good'. Different...

What speed should the bosch stop assisting?

LOL, if you search, one of the threads is titled "I want my 1mph" and I am the author. o_O

Brose compared to Bosch, Yamaha and STEPS

Key word: YOU never feel the power. I'm positive that 1/2 the test riders of Bosch and similar systems never feel the power because they NEVER PEDAL HARD ENOUGH to trigger full power. This is a sophisticated system with a very good torque sensor setup. Many many people simply never work hard...

Look of horror when I mention getting an eBike

It's the easing of the suffering that they can't tolerate. Don't we know that it's supposed to hurt? That going slow and grunting it out up that hill is good for the psyche? ;) LOL

;) Please don't feel that this is related to your ethnicity, they treat us ALL like that. LOL (but seriously)

What speed should the bosch stop assisting?

Not so. Mine and every other Haibike I know of cuts out at just over 19mph. The law is LESS THAN 20 mph. The Haibike forum has several discussions about this, very common and certainly seems to be "normal". My Easy Motion also cuts out well below 20 mph.

Human power at extreme level,be nice to your battery its working hard.

I've seen some stand alone stationary bicycle/generator devices that some humanitarian groups are supplying places with no electricity. An hour a day pedaling can supply enough juice for their household demands stored in batteries.

Any thoughts on this $499 folding ebike?

Looks nicely built. Lights. Suspension fork. Nice seat. Even a side stand! AND a folder... $499? Not a chance in HELL.......................... $699 minimum by the time it's actually made. But probably more like $899 or 999. ;) This rates behind Sonders and his what $500? original...

good urban mid drive, full suspension bike?

Why don't you just put a suspension fork on the front (not from Stromer! $$) and a Body Float or ThudBuster for the seat? If you ride urban and street there's nothing stronger than the Stromer. You can buy a nice Rock Shox fork for $250-300 (list 500-700) and that would be one SWEET ebike!

I wish someone would rig a computer desk with pedaling for power (option) assuming you can put out enough! Want to browse? Gotta pedal for it! Think of the shape this country would be in! LOL

    Rider's effort inconsequential

It's your bikes gearing. If the bike isn't geared tall enough to be able to peddle faster than the motor supports, you'll feel what you are feeling. My Haibike and Easy Motion are like that, and that's at 20mph! So the gearing is very low on those two bikes. Peddle very hard to go 21mph. On...

My Falco 750 W HX motor kit

Falco's speed pedalec (28mph) is/Was called "offroad" because it's not legal "on road". It stops assisting at 28mph, whether it's via torque sensor or throttle. At that speed it stops giving FURTHER speed, but keeps you at 28mph. Depending on your bikes gearing, you may or may not be able...
