What's the best saddle for long rides?

Most Trek stores can get you fitted for a saddle. Here is a diy method. https://hincapie.com/ride-with-us/stories-from-the-saddle/how-to-measure-sit-bone-width-for-bike-saddle-size/

If you buy a bike with a Bosch motor, who owns the motor?

I unfortunately checked in on my phone, and saw the same clowns still trolling me. So here I am on the desktop where they are all ignored. With my failed Bafang gear motor I sent it back to Sondors and they redid the soldering on cold joints. Got it back and it lasted for 6 miles. I am not...

    Best ebike for Seniors Citizens

What's a senior citizen in your poll? I didn't start riding until I was 64, and now I'm 70 and approaching 16,000 miles on eBikes. I don't care to speculate what others need. What do you plan to do with the data?

If you buy a bike with a Bosch motor, who owns the motor?

I don't care who owns my Bosch motors. A dead motor is scrap and means nothing to me. The most common issue I read about is if the motor gets submerged or exposed to a lot of water. I ride recreationally and have a total of 11,800 (7,800 on the most used) miles on 3 different eBikes with Bosch...

    Crank squeak

Oddly enough, check the fasteners under your saddle. As you hips move around to pedal, you put load on both sides of the saddle. Check the pedal to crank fasteners. I use a light coating of grease on the pedals bolts and crank fasteners.

when to replace cassette and/or chainring

I replaced my first chain around 3,000 miles. The cassette looked great. Replaced the second time and the chain wore a little faster, replaced it around 5,400. Put on the third chain and it was a little noisy. Never a skipping problem. So at 7,100 miles I replaced the whole drivetrain. Chain...

    Service

If service is important to you, then your local shops are the ones that matter. It's been my experience that higher end eBikes have less trouble than cheap ones. I have 2 Haibikes that haven't been back to the shop since I bought them 6 years ago. My first eBike (Sondors) had a motor failure...

Better to downshift for stops (shifter wear & tear) or not (chain strain)?

Almost nothing to wear out on the "shifter". But I don't know if you mean the shifter on the handlebars, the cable, or the derailleur. Chain wear comes from not keeping it lubed and harsh shifting under power. Down shifting is not as hard on components as up shifting under heavy pedaling load.

Front brake starts rubbing in rain

Nothing swells from the rain and drags just when it's wet. The brakes will wear a little bit more and noise will likely stop. You could try a different compound pad, or hand sand off a little friction material, but it will change just with age. At least you have good brake action when it get's...

    Roselandia, another flat-foot ebike!

That kind of pedal forward bike really takes some core muscles. It's tough to get the same leg power as the conventional geometry. The particular one must be tough to keep the saddle tight with all the cantilever to the front!

I'm averaging one jerk per week

I come back from every ride with some kind of report for my wife. She is getting more concerned than I am, but I am really getting scared of a few places where I ride. Only option it to put the bike in the van and drive the 2 miles to the trail. But I see lots of crazy crap on the trail too.

Installed Corn Head Grease in my new Luna Z1 Bafang Ultra Mag

A tablespoon is a ton of grease. The gears only need a light film on them. Grease on the case does nothing.

Just got this email from FLX... is it real?

I absolutely NEVER click on a link in an email. That should be your first red flag. Mimicking a company is really easy, even easy to offer a great price on something they have no intention of selling.

No more update. My bike was stolen

Still sellable parts on the black market. They don't want a bike, they want money.

    How should go about this

Technically punctuation is not grammar and the reason I mentioned it is that reading your post is more difficult without a single period being used in 6 lines and it makes reading it a bit challenging I consider it a courtesy but if being called on it upsets you then courtesy doesn't concern you...

Didn't over grease it? What product are you using that you are calling grease?

    How should go about this

You have a thing against using periods? Is a "dial thingy" a gear indicator? My BMC doesn't have any kind of gear indicator, and I can still ride it. LOL

    Clogged cogs

A stick may cause a problem, but not leaves. How many miles on the chain and cassette gears? Jockey wheels on the derailleur should not cause skipping problems. When was the last time you tuned up the derailleur and checked cable tension? You have WAY too much crud on the chain. It all needs to...
