    Husqvarna ebikes??????

Husqvarna outdoor power and construction tools is owned by the original Swedish company. KTM purchased the motorcycle (and most likely owns this new e-bike company) division in 2013. The sewing machine division is now owned by SVP Worldwide.

My dealer did that, and Mahle refused to sell direct to my dealer and said the only way is for him to buy through Orbea, who also refuses to do so.

    Carbon Wheel Build with Ebikemotion

Things are obviously different here in the US. Orbea refused to supply my dealer with an X35 hub to sell me. They said that they are only setup with Mahle to warranty components, but not to retail them. I asked what an owner is suppose to do after the 2 year warranty on the X35 system expires...

    Carbon Wheel Build with Ebikemotion

Finally received my Farsports wheels a couple days ago. The front 45mm is complete with Carbon-TI hub. Mounted a new Conti 5000TL and it's dead sexy. The rear is a 58mm bare rim, and I have to disassemble the factory rear wheel so I can build the new rear with my factory X35 hub. I tried to...

    Carbon Wheel Build with Ebikemotion

In the Orbea Dealer Guide it states all components are linked to the bike's serial number and are not swappable to other bikes, but as you found out it's only the battery/controller assembly that is linked. I know another person who is using the X35 hub motor off of a Cannondale Treadwell Neo...

He has an Orbea Gain and built 2 sets of Farsports wheels using his original hub motor on 1 wheeset, and the hub motor off a Cannondale for the second wheelset.

    Carbon Wheel Build with Ebikemotion

Not entirely accurate since I know a person who bought 3 Cannondale bikes and is using the hub motor off of 1 bike for a second set of wheels on his Orbea M20i. Works perfectly and no fault codes. No dealer was involved in this swap at all.

    lower the top speed

Throttle? I thought class 3 was pedal assist only to 28mph? Edit-Just checked out your bike. Pedal assist to 28mph, and throttle assist to 20mph. But still isn't that not really a class 2 or 3 at that point? What is it-A class 2/3?

480 GBP is a pretty big chunk of change, but at least they are willing to sell you one. In the US, that is not even a possibility.

    Carbon Wheel Build with Ebikemotion

Here's some information that most of your may not be aware of. I was trying to buy a second hub motor to use with my Farsports wheelset that's on the way to me, so I reached out to both Orbea and Mahle. Mahle says they only sell to manufacturers and not to individuals. Orbea said to contact my...

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

I received the VolaBike tuning dongle Monday and just rode with it installed the last 2 days on my 2020 Orbea Gain M20i. It took a while to arrive as VolaBike hadn't previously shipped to the US, and the first shipment with a European economy shipping company never arrived in the US from what...

Giant No Longer a Value Brand? A Tale of Two Similar E-bikes, Two Years & $900 apart

My son worked at a bicycle shop several years ago. Guess things have changed. The margins were quite high and if you ordered more than just 1 or 2 bikes at a time, shipping was included. My son bought a Specialized bike while working there, and his cost was right at 1/2 of MSRP.

Giant No Longer a Value Brand? A Tale of Two Similar E-bikes, Two Years & $900 apart

Would you buy any other kind of product brand like a motor vehicles , appliances, or electronics if paying MSRP was the only choice, or would you look to other brands that allowed their dealers and retailers to sell for lower more reasonable prices?

Giant No Longer a Value Brand? A Tale of Two Similar E-bikes, Two Years & $900 apart

While most manufacturers hold a dealer to MAP, (minimum advertised price-usually MSRP) they usually don't have the dealer agree to fixed pricing on actual sales. But apparently Specialized does.

Giant No Longer a Value Brand? A Tale of Two Similar E-bikes, Two Years & $900 apart

I think Specialized makes great bikes. I would own one myself if their pricing was a bit closer to the competition, and their dealers were flexible with selling prices. I bought another major brand last year's model (2020) new in the box and got over 30% off MSRP.
