Need hints for tire removal on tubeless-ready wheels

TT -- My tires have tubes because I don't want to deal with sealant. I do have tubeless-ready rims and tubeless-ready tires because the bike came with them and I didn't realize that it would be such a pain to fix a flat. As you say the geometry of the rim is different in that it has a bit of a...

Need hints for tire removal on tubeless-ready wheels

Thanks for your reply, TT. The tire was completely flat, but that was not the issue. Are you talking about a tubeless-ready tire on a tubeless-ready rim or a regular tire on a "hooked rim"? Most people would not say that they never had a problem with tubeless-ready tires. Hmm...

Need hints for tire removal on tubeless-ready wheels

Thanks, Alaskan! This looks like a tool for the home shop. I could have used it when I replaced my tires at home, but I don't think I would want to carry it on my bike. It's definitely a bit expensive, but all Park tools run a bit on the high side.

Need hints for tire removal on tubeless-ready wheels

Thanks for the reply, Deacon Blues! I guess I'm not the only one who thinks these tires are a bear to remove! I really am looking for a method that I can use to repair a flat when I am "out in the wild."

Need hints for tire removal on tubeless-ready wheels

I have a Cannondale Synapse Neo 1 e-bike with tubeless-ready wheels and tires. (RD 2.0 wheels and 32c WTB Exposure tires.) I have recently replaced the tires because they were showing wear. I was successful but had some frustrations unseating the bead from the wheel in order to remove the tire...

    Mid-Drive Shifting Technique

This is my technique as well. It works great. I pedal harder for a revolution or two to push ahead, then ease up on the pedals, then shift... and do this again...and again... I can shift multiple times in the middle of a hill with little complaint from the bike.

    Synapse Neo SE fenders

Anthony, Here is a picture of Jim on his e-trike on Moosilauke Highway in New Hampshire. The trike is an ICE trike and is pretty cool.

    Synapse Neo SE fenders

Hi Anthony, I am going to try a "conversation" with you since I have some touring notes that I think others might not be interested in. I think you might see a checkmark on your profile inbox to read the conversation. This is a test... ;) We'll see if it works.

    Synapse Neo SE fenders

Anthony, let's continue the tip exchange: Hmm... update on Bosch motor? That's a thing? What do they update? Can you describe your noise to the dealer? Last year I had a creaking sound when pedaling, like what might be heard from an aluminum seat post or handlebar "on my old bikes back in...

    Synapse Neo SE fenders

Shoe goo is really more for home repair since it takes overnight to dry. I carry a small roll of duct tape for on-the-road minor repairs. Also, a few cable ties can come in handy if something comes loose and needs to be reattached. I always carry extra derailleur cables, but I have no idea how...

    Synapse Neo SE fenders

Hello Anthony, I am changing the tires because of wear, although they look like they have many more miles left in them. The tires I have are WTB Exposure 32c, and they have been amazing! I have ridden about 2700 mi (about 4350 km) and have had only one flat (at about 100 miles of riding shortly...

Good sleuthing! I'll have to pay attention when I remove the rear wheel. I want to change my tires soon.

    Synapse Neo SE fenders

I'm a little late to this thread, but I just checked the holes in the front fork of my Cannondale Synapse Neo 1. At first, it seemed as if the holes were too large and the bolt I tried just seemed to go in too far without hitting any threads. But I got a somewhat longer bolt (like the ones for...

    Cannondale Synapse Neo 1 (2020) - 1 month review...

I just looked and changing units to mph is easy. Hold the - button on the left down and tap the power button to toggle between km/h and mph. If this actually changes the cut-off speed it would be really weird, and just wrong! Good luck anyway.

    Cannondale Synapse Neo 1 (2020) - 1 month review...

Carson, I'm sorry that you are having these frustrating problems! I have the same bike but live in the US and I have no issues with the speed cut-off point. When I get to 20 mph, say on a slight downhill, I can feel that the motor starts to gently cut off to provide no assistance at speeds...

Cannondale Synapse Neo SE or Cannondale Synapse Neo 1

Hopefully, you can get some rides in before the weather gets too cold and the roads get snowy. Good luck -- I think you got the bike you will love! I may have had my last ride of the season yesterday. They predict snow here in a couple of days.

Cannondale Synapse Neo SE or Cannondale Synapse Neo 1

Hi Timac. I think that might have been me who told you that 650b tires wouldn't work on the Neo 1. What I meant was that if you get 650b tires, I think you have to get different wheels too. The Neo 1 frame will take either wheels designed for 700c tires or wheels designed for 650b tires. At...

    Gear Inches Question: 28.3 v 27

Regarding different tires for the Neo 1: A while ago I talked with my Local Bike Shop (LBS) and they said that the Neo1 has enough clearance for 40mm tires. The Neo 1 takes 700c tires, so 650b tires won't work, but you can get a wider and more knobby 700c tire for the Neo1. Here are a couple I...

    Gear Inches Question: 28.3 v 27

That's why we prefer 'green rooms'. When we use porta-pots, we use a LOT of hand sanitizer and try to sanitize everything we can 'before' and 'after'. A coronavirus vaccine will be most welcome!
