Good point on the gearing, especially the 11th gear. I wonder about the display. I hope it is as configurable as the LX model, especially with speed settings.

I assume the Rockstar will likewise be able to hit 35mph.

Thanks for the idea Timpo. I believe that the Bafang Ultra controller is integrated in the motor, though, and thus you'd have to change it out, right? I have little experience in this domain.

The Archon X1 controller looks very nice, but the price tag is quite steep for the controller -- $800 for 1000watt

I'm hoping that someone will try to swap out the 25amp controller with a 30amp controller on the Rockstar and provide some programming instructions without costing a fortune. It would be nice to be able to beef it up to 1000w.

Thanks. As I recall, Sondors said they worked with Bafang to tune their motor to their requirements. My desire for the 1000watt version is pretty simple: I plan to ride on the street a lot too - more than on trails actually. Thus, I'd like to have the option of pushing the bike faster...

I believe that the Rockstar is on target to ship in Feb. I'm not in that batch, though.
