    2 Bricked Bosch Powerpacks

Isn't the cost of the PowerPacks 9 cents a mile? (My 2014, with 7000 miles, is fading away. At $600/7000 miles, that's 8.5 cents a mile.) In big, round numbers, the cost of li-ion batteries was about $1000/kWh in 2010, and today it's getting close to $100. I sure wish Bosch would market...

    Bosch motor won't power up

No, I don't know what resetting does, and I would like to know. It seems noteworthy that after 5 seconds the lights responded, then responded again after 10 seconds. Is holding the battery button for 5 second a different instruction than a 10 second hold? I do know that my bike worked fine with...

    Bosch motor won't power up

A mechanic suggested resetting the battery by removing the battery from the bike and holding the on/off button on the battery for at least 10 seconds. I found that after 4 or 5 seconds, all the lights turned on, and then turned off. After 9 or 10 seconds, all the lights turned on, and then...

    Bosch system startup issue

Yes, that little button below the green lights showing state-of-charge. That button seems to work just like the power switch on the Intuvia -- it turns on and off the entire system. However, when the Intuvia power switch fails to turn on the assist, the battery button will turn on the assist.

    Bosch system startup issue

I had reported that cleaning the +/- switch helped. It did, but once again, the assist failed to turn on at my destination. However, turning on the battery (while mounted in the bike) worked, and the bike gave me assist for my return trip.

    Bosch controller quit on xm700+

My bike was having the same issue, and dissembling the +/- switch, as S. Dave described above, seems to have helped. I didn't see any dust/crap/crud, but hey, maybe it helped.

    Bosch system startup issue

I dissembled the +/- device as Saratoga Dave described here, and that seems to have helped. The power assist now turns on and off like it should.

    Bosch motor won't power up

Here's the discussion about cleaning the +/- switch: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/bosch-motor-wont-power-up.15747/ I cleaned the +/- switch, and it seems to have helped. Pretty easy.

    Bosch system startup issue

I tried both pressing and holding down the minus button without success. I tried plugging the bike it, and indeed, it works. Even easier, turning the battery on with its button (with battery mounted on the bike) works for me. Turning it on there (in addition to turning it on at the Intuvia...

    Bosch motor won't power up

My bike has the same issues. It behaves as if the Intuvia doesn't recognize the battery, that is, the Intuvia works the same with and without the battery. It also seemed to fail on the second use -- that is, it would work fine at home, but then when I went to return from my destination, it would...

    Bosch system startup issue

My bike has been experiencing similar problems. I just now noticed that when the +/- controller doesn't allow the bike to provide assist, the lights on the battery weren't lit. So I pushed the button on the battery, and everything seems fine. Could turning on the battery separately solve the...

    Bosch system startup issue

Could you clarify what you mean by "battery reset"? With the battery removed, I hold down the button on the side of the battery and it appears to turn on (lights indicating level of charge), and after 5 seconds, the lights turn off. But (!), if I turn on the battery, and release the button, the...

    Lighting on Trekking RS

Turns out the wire to the rear light rubbed against the rear tire long enough to go through the copper. So I re-connected the wires, and now the rear light works again.

    Lighting on Trekking RS

Found the answer. Here's a graphic of the control: https://sites.google.com/a/currietech.com/help/haibike/haibike-trekking/3-documents/lighting The handlebar switch has three modes: Off, Blue, and Green. One can cycle through the modes by holding down the center button. The front light has two...

    Lighting on Trekking RS

Thanks. The paper manual that came with my bike doesn't say anything about the lights. I found a different manual here: https://www.haibike.com/de/de. Unfortunately it says: "if you need more information on the lighting, see your dealer." It does say "If you cannot find the cause of the trouble...

    Lighting on Trekking RS

The rear light has stopped working on my '14 Trekking RS. It's the one with built-in generator and Trelock front and rear lights. I was trying to figure out the right-hand thumb switch, and I wonder if I inadvertently turned off the taillight. The front light works. I've found holding the...

    Recharging at restaurants, stores, etc?

I hope to tour with my e-bike. However, I will go through lightly populated areas. Any hints for recharging the battery? I can envision going into a restaurant and asking to plug in my bike's battery. Most coffee stores are used to having customers plug in laptops, so those would be easy. I...
