Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 vs Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ

I have the Vado 5.0 SL ST. There is no issue with the water bottle on the bottom - provided you use a side entry cage. (and if you have a range extender, that position is unavailable.) You can add a second water bottle on the sloping top tube - BUT when I did I basically lost the step through...

Fraud Warning - SpecializedSale web site

Found an incredible sale price for a range extender battery - $99 Then noticed 2022 Vado 4.0 SL Step "Trough" for $92.88. A much better deal. The web site looks legit - even https site with specialized logo. And just a few spelling errors. They don't list a phone, but do list a street...

‘22 Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0 TCD issue

My TCD stopped functioning about 6 months ago. I took it to a local Specialized dealer. They put in a warranty claim and Specialized replaced it with a new one. All well since. (The display basically quit working) Bike is a 5.0 Vado SL step-through Jay

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Yes. So far, so good. I am told by a friend who rides mountain bikes at much lower pressure, that the pinch flat fear with low pressures is overrated as the tire width increases. And the risk of puncture increases with higher pressure. Dramatically different ride.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

The sidewall on the tire of my Vado SL 5.0 suggests 50 to 80#s. Coming from a road bike I kept at 105#, I opted for 70. Not a terrible ride. But recently dropped it to 50 - incredible difference. Much nicer ride on rough (not cobblestone) roads. Even on smooth roads, seems better. Choice...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Absolutely, Stefan!!! I took my Vado SL with me to Florida. At first it seemed to be overkill taking an ebike where it was so flat (group ride of 30 miles - total elevation: 40 feet!!). But while the roads are flat, they are straight. And the wind is steady. And with an upright position...

2021 Turbo Vado 4.0 Fenders and Lights

The arm does compress the fender ahead of the front fork. But it is flexible, and so far has not damaged it. But it would be more secure if it locked down on the wheel instead of the fender. Jay

2021 Turbo Vado 4.0 Fenders and Lights

Some of my bike buddies have the Sherpa 2. It is sturdier, with higher capacity, and the arm locking mechanism seems a bit more bullet proof. The Transfer is lighter, and came in a one bike version (making it lighter still). And cheaper! All played into my decision tree. :) J

2021 Turbo Vado 4.0 Fenders and Lights

I took pictures of the rack upright, folded down and empty and with the bike in the normal position and tilted so you can access trunk or hatch with the bike loaded. Hope it helps. Jay

2021 Turbo Vado 4.0 Fenders and Lights

Kuat Transfer 2.0 (single bike model) Max bike weight is 60# - fine for the SL - probably not for some heavier ebikes. I do use the provided velcro strap which is supposed to be optional for bikes under 40 pounds. Jay

2021 Turbo Vado 4.0 Fenders and Lights

A bit late to the party, but I've been using the Kuat rack with my Vade EQ 5.0 SL with the fender on. Seems secure, and doesn't damage the fender - just presses it down against the tire a bit. But its flexible. The Kuat arm sits close to the fork, and past the top of the wheel - so it isn't...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I bought my Vado SL 5.0 EQ ST in July. The bike did not come with the same equip that was shown in the official specs. Using my serial number, I asked Specialized how my bike was equipped. Still did not match what was on the bike. All specifications shown on the Specialized site are...

Most important “new” is that the bike appears to be available in most sizes. 👍

REI selling Co-Op brand ebikes to REI Co-Op members only during October 2021

And the $20 is once per lifetime - not annual. This year, REI did not make a profit, so technically there is no dividend. BUT they are issuing "rewards" equivalent to the dividend. The dividend is historically 10% of full price purchases during the year. So if you want to buy a bike from...

    Dropped chain on Trek Verve+

I am told back peddling can do that. It happened to me on a very steep hill. First time up, jammed the chain dropping it frame side of the cassette. Cleared it and tried again. then lost it inside the chain ring (1x VADO SL). 3d time was a charm. Then I adjusted the high screw on the...

    Calculating and recalculating range

A nice ride! And you said you weren't strong. (I thought I was using Blevo today - but it shut down almost immediately. I think I figured out tonight that though I connected the Bike with bluetooth, I didn't enable bluetooth in the iPhone Blevo app settings in addition to the iPhone...

    Calculating and recalculating range

Answer to question? https://www.cybersalt.org/clean-jokes/where-did-i-come-from Sounds like a plan!! I lose weight, lose wait (ride slower), lose the poncho, and ride on smooth roads, downwind and down hill in all directions. I'll hit that Specialized 80 mile promise for sure. Jay

    Calculating and recalculating range

Thanks, Stefan i bought the BLEvo app and downloaded the manual ... have not yet configured my bike to the app. I am a bit lost on "real" wheel circumference. As of now, Mission Control is giving me a different ride distance and average speed by about 3 or 4% than the TDU or my iPhone. I...
