48v or 52v battery for current BBSHD builds

Bosch dishwasher are crap! You have to dry the washed dishes by hand because of some energy saving feature that doesn't work.

    Ebike build

I also had the 46t on there for a while. I used the spacer that came with the stand and added an 1/8 inch spacer and it worked great. Thanks for the compliment.

    Luna shark pack 52v

I have 11" on the seat tube, 24" on the down tube and 20" on the top tube and it works.

    Ebike build

I recently built an ebike with a BBSHD. I initially had a BBS02 but I upgraded to the HD. It is powerful, much more torque than the 02. It comes with a 46t steel chainring which gave me good chain alignment but I wanted something more attractive so I bought the Luna Eclipse. Even with the...

    Luna shark pack 52v

I have the Shark pack it takes an inch or maybe a little more to clear the tabs on the holder. I have mine mounted on the down rail of a trail/hybrid and it fits but I had to do some mods to the mounting bracket in order to use the water bottle bosses.

    Chain Snapping

I keep hearing that one should match the new chain with the old chain (same number of links). What about when you make a change to the chain ring. Isn't a larger or smaller one going to affect the required chain length?

    Hub motors

Got everything assembled except the electrical which should be easy. After I put on the new chainwheel (48t) if figured I would test the shifting. The chain keeps falling off on the granny gear. I put it on gear 3 and it seems to say in place. I noticed the the chain is far from a straight...

    Hub motors

Hi George, I'm not sure I would trust the boss water brackets anyway for something as having as this battery. Prices of ebikes are bound to come down but this is what we pay to be early adopters.

    Hub motors

Not drilling the frame on an aluminum bike frame seems to be the consensus. Thanks.

    Hub motors

I was hoping to avoid any clamps but maybe I can't. Once I get it hooked up this morning and can be sure the battery is good I may look at how I can modify the bracket to match one of the existing bosses. If not I may go the rivnut route. I can't imagine one more hole will hurt the integrity...

    Hub motors

My local bike guy who is someone we should all love (junky shop and loves to restore old bikes) said he could put in a rivnut but he hates to drill into aluminum frames. The other problem is that the area that the rivnut would need to go into is so tight that a conventional drill is not going...

    Hub motors

I actually had a Zuma which is the one that that I put the bigger cylinder on. It was a heavy scooter but with the modified 2 stroke and the modified clutch it would do almost 40mph. It was fun, wish I had kept it.

    Hub motors

Thanks. I am putting it together right now. In order to attach my battery bracket I am going to need to make a new screw hole. The bolts for the water bottle holder do not match my bracket. Should I just use a self tapping screw? John

    Hub motors

The price was $499 not cheap but compared to the mac geared hub it was a better price. The batteries are a killer as well. I have had several scooters (2 stroke, 49cc) and I was tempted to get another one but they are noisey and smell. Modified with a larger cylinder and piston I could get up...

    Hub motors

Court J. Thank you again for the advice. Hopefully you will not mind if I ask you about setting the display. Lunacycle does not provide any instructions for any of this equipment. I fully understand the mechanical stuff but the display programming i don't. I am also perturbed that the...

    Hub motors

I ended up getting the 48t chainring but I wonder if that is still too large. The kit should arrive today. After reading some other posts I hope I did not error in getting the bbs02 vs the bbshd. I figured since it would be limited use and with no hills to climb 750w would be good enough...

FYI Lunacycle is having July 4th sale

I am starting my build tomorrow with a BBs02 and a 48t chainring. I am not an aggressive rider and have zero hills to climb but I kind of wish I would have gone with a smaller chainring. Now I need advice as to how to ride this bike. Start out with the largest cog on the cassette (9 gears) and...

    Another "need advice" post

Well, after asking what is probably too many questions I finally placed my orders. I ended up getting a Motobecane Elite Adventure and the BBS02 750 with the Shark 52v 13.5ah and charger. I opted for the 48t chainring and I hope this is not too large. Since I have no hills to climb I am only...

    Hub motors

I got the 52t because I have all flat ground. I also, for just cruising would like to keep the chain pretty much in the center and no inclines for me. I did not get the cable.
