    Aventon Pace 500 vs. Level?

The Aventon Pace 500 was my runner up and I liked even with no assist. I ended up getting a Giant LaFree E+2 which is $1,999. It is also a step thru and very comfortable but doesn't have a throttle and with back problems you might want to have one on occasion. I thought I did too until I tried...

    Aventon Pace 500 vs. Level?

I've only ridden the Pace 500 step thru, and it was very upright. It weighs about 49 pounds compared to the Level which I believe weighs about 10 pounds more. I could have tried the Level but the extra weight put me off. My knees seem to take turns being less stable which makes a heavier step...

    E-joe bike JADE

The Koda 3.0 that I tried out was with a dealer in Santa Clara, California when I was visiting one of my brothers. He had different ebike brands including E-Joe and Magnum and Surface 604. He told me he preferred the E-Joe since he had fewer problems with them than the Magnums. He hadn't been...

    E-joe bike JADE

I didn't have any dealers within an hour's drive that carried the Ride 1 up, so I didn't get a chance. Both the Level and Ride 1 up are much heavier than the Aventon, and when I was trying out ebikes, I much preferred lighter. The Aventon Pace 500 checks in at 49 pounds while the Level and Ride...

    E-joe bike JADE

Here is a review of the Koda 3.0 https://electrek.co/2019/05/26/e-joe-koda-3-0-electric-mountain-bike-review/, the one in EBR is an older version with a smaller, less powerful motor. If you don't think you will be doing much riding in hilly areas, an Aventon Pace 350 at $1,099 might work for...

    LaFree Ebike

I test rode a seafoam green one and decided I preferred the blue without actually seeing one. The blue is beautiful. Just fairly short rides so far to get the feel of it and I love it. Actually prefer not having a display, just enjoying the ride.

    E-joe bike JADE

Hi Nat, There is no telling when the Jade will be available, especially with all that is going on. What if it takes you 6-12 months to actually get one, and you haven't even tried out? I tried out a lot of ebikes (new and used) before I made my decision and it helped me figure out what I liked...

Step Through, In hub gearing, Mid-Motor for Hills < 3K hard to find.

I have a non electric belt drive with a IGH and works great in town where I can't go more than a couple of blocks without a stop light or sign, but I can't climb even moderate hills with my bad knees. On the flats it is great and no maintenance worries. It does require letting off a bit when...

Giant LaFree E+1 at $2400 might work for you. It doesn't have front suspension, but it works for me an I'm an oldster.

    LaFree Ebike

Put my deposit on a LaFree E+2 today with a bike shop that just deals with e-bikes. I kept hearing browneye whispering that the dealer was just as important as the bike. The bike will be ready in about a week as they didn't have my size and color that I wanted ready to go, but the have one at...

    Gear Inches

Turns out it is 2.8 times, not 2.5 which makes it equal to a 42 tooth front, so the very lowest gear is 32 inches a little bit higher than I like normally but it probably won't be a big deal with the power assist. But it will add a bit of drag when not using the assist, something I'll need to...

    Opinions on the Espin Riene

What did you decide? I'm looking at a Espin Reine and a bike store about 50 miles away has one this week.

Is the new Aventon Level a better choice than Ride1Up 700?

I tried out the Pace 500 and the store that I tried it out on had fenders and rack for $100 total. Living in Oregon, fenders are a necessity. I did like the light weight on the Pace and avoided trying out the Level because of its weight. The Pace was easy to ride without the assist and I didn't...
