Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I have a question regarding winter "storage". I have seen that the battery is spec'd to -20/+60 degrees Celsius for storage. Now it hasn't been that cold in the last 10 years, but you never know... Those of you who don't have heated storage for your bike, how do you protect the battery? Do...

Find someone with a set of screw extractors? (sorry if that‘s not the proper word) And find a new lbs with torque tools 🫠

Yeah, Germany. Though I don‘t mind going under 25 with motor off.

I think it‘s situational. The 20km ride to work yesterday, I used 17% battery. Motor was off for 78% of the time. The way home has more uphill, but I had strong headwind too, so that used 52% battery. Usually it only takes 25% but I needed the full assist (70% of the ride) to beat the wind and...

Springs in future shock on turbo Vado SL 5.0

Thanks, the lack of mention in the manuals didn‘t really help. Yeah the other video had no lube. Guess it‘s ok then.

Springs in future shock on turbo Vado SL 5.0

Hate to bump an old thread but it's sort of relevant: does the helper spring need to be in lube of any sort? There was no spring pre-installed (got the three blue black yellow with the bike), I put the black one in for now and on one video where a guy shows how to change the springs there is...

Yeah I got that part, sorry I was typing on the phone and it's not fun to quote from there. The 2x17.5 is from later on, and the following calculations are based on 25km. Or maybe I misread something, hope I didn't though.

    17.5 x 2 is 35 though right?

I think the stock rims on the 4.0 are not tubeless ready

I bought shoes with that discount (returned, too small, big feet suck and you have a 47 and half the brands make it a 48), and I think it was not for bikes. Edit: found the mail, I got 10% on equipment only

Yeah I have the old Garmin Edge Explore and it's fine except the power sensor does not connect. I posted about that a few dozen pages back and got help re the MC and Ride apps. That aside it's really nice on the Vado SL. The original TCD mount is Garmin compatible too so it just fits right on.

I went with the Specialized Bennies, if you look at my posting history there should be a pic in this thread. Wanted to stay „in brand“ where possible. Edit: pic here https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/specialized-turbo-vado-sl-an-incredible-e-bike-user-club.43468/post-519677

Replying to myself here: Did a test ride to work with the TCD and the Garmin (not connected to sensors) just for the map. Had the Mission Control App running to track the ride. Both the Garmin and MC uploaded identical tracks to Komoot (was unsure if the phone GPS would be as accurate as the...

Thank you Nubnub, that explains it. So if I want the full functionality, I should use the TCD and just take the Edge Explore for the map/nav when needed?

Thank you Stefan, I think I will disconnect and reconnect the Garmin later today to make sure I got all sensors.
