Four years is a lot to ask of any battery, though certainly possible with good care. Currie and Stromer batteries are pretty expensive to replace, but understandably costly. Pedego has been notorious with some of theirs. Pretty much everything else is quite reasonable. DIY repacking can save...
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback.
Ravi: How long will 36v be the norm? Eeesh, I don't know. How long is a piece of string? I think the 36v stuff at the 2k price point is going to get cheaper in the coming years. I think we're starting to see really great 36v geared motor combos around...
I'm noticing in the threads that many riders are going straight for the 48v bikes. It drives me crazy. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with choosing a 48v bike, but you're doing yourself a disservice by not considering a 36v.
Granted, I'm a little biased on this one. I was a bicycle...
If you can get a Neo for that price, then there is no comparison. I'd upgrade the battery with your savings. The Neo city has more finesse but is still very torquey and powerful. We've had a 48v City Commuter and a Neo City as demos for over a year now and while everybody likes both bikes...
Hey, check out the torque sensor adjustment feature in your ST1 manual. I just switched mine to 10% and it's nuts. Achieving a 50 mile range would be cake at that level! Seriously great exercise! Just put the "how to" up on the Stromer threads.
Hey guys,
Stromer included a really great feature on its display that not many people know about: the ability to easily adjust the sensitivity of the torque sensor. The process is described in the manual and involves two steps. I've attached them as .pdf documents here.
This is very useful for...
I just got our first Stromer Sport in for repair. One cool thing about it (and all Stromers) is that you can adjust the sensitivity of the torque sensor by entering 1004 on the display. From there, you can adjust the sensitivity between 30-100%. Very useful, and I'd say lowering the...
I'm pretty excited about a 36 pound ebike release with the Riide, even though they made some compromises to make weight. I like that ebikes are starting to get lighter. If you could make an ST1/Eflow 30 pounds, that would be the perfect bike.
Mid-drives are awesome, but I wish they were as...
Our last order of Epic SEs were a bit of a surprise. It has a firmer stem with a slightly more aggressive geometry, cleaner cables, a sharper looking chain guard and a rack!
Basically, a great bike just got even better.
Only Race video we posted was a guy going up a huge hill with no hands. It's the same controller cover thats on every Neo. They're pretty tricky from a maintenance standpoint, but aesthetically I don't mind them. I like how they blend into the battery. That design can get a little creaky...
