    A 'real' flat-resistant tire?

I've been running the Marathon Greenguards on my other commuter for 2 winters now with ZERO flats. Really handle nice and feel confident cornering on any surface. Here in Seattle a lot of stuff gets washed to the side of the road and my experience has been in the past 4 to 5 flats a winter...

What is your average speed on your ST2

Well here is what I have so far according to Cyclemeter; Rides 20 Total Miles 153.28 Total Ride Time 7:22:55 Total Ascent 5603 ft Average Speed 20.77 mph I don't really user the Stromer app for distance much. I ride almost always in level 2 that I think I finally have dialed in. On days...

This is what the ST2 should have come stock with

I have no experience with the ST1 but I can tell you on the ST2 it is really nice. Makes it just that much more enjoyable!

This is what the ST2 should have come stock with

The SR fork is the perfect addition to the ST2. Makes the handling around the awful roads here in the greater Seattle area so much more enjoyable to ride. Yes I will admit the price is a bit steep for a suspension fork but it does match up with the bike perfectly.

    ST2 Kickstand replacement

I like this style as it works well if you ever have to change a flat. I know here in the US the only ship the 320mm but in Europe they have the 290mm as well. Simple enough cut.

    ST2 Kickstand replacement

Looks pretty straightforward. I used a translation site so have the details. I don't have any crank interference as I've seen some have. It's acutally a pretty darn good stand except for the retract.

    ST2 Kickstand replacement

I've been riding mt bikes since 86 - seen a LOT of change. Curious to hear about what you think of the ST2S. The extended battery will be available for the ST2 as well at some point. I LOVE my ST2 - huge grin on my face every time I ride it. Rode my Tout Terrain to work today which I love...

    ST2 Kickstand replacement

After looking at the mounting location last night I'm thinking any of the center mounting kickstands will work such as the Pletscher or Atran. I have a directmount Atran Stylo on my other commuter (Tout Terrain) - awesome stand. Tough to find the Atran stands in the US unfortunately. Looking...

    ST2 Kickstand replacement

I understand the idea of the kickstand auto retracting but it's REALLY annoying. Anyone replaced with another model. I think I read someone doing just that and curious what model fits.

Front Suspension for ST2 - Recommendation?

86 and still kicking is right - the Stromer setup will conform to the current geometry of the bike at 100mm. Most suspension forks now are 120mm or better and will slacken the head tube angle considerable which won't bode well with the speeds you hit on the ST2.

Mid Drive Vs. Rear Hub motor

Good suggestion - I'm a pretty avid cyclist so I'm hoping my cadence and pedal effort will help with this. But I'll check it out.

Mid Drive Vs. Rear Hub motor

Ha - I understand. Well I can tell you with one week of commuting on the ST2 here in Seattle the hills have not been an issue. I honestly can't believe how fast I can fly up them now! Now I'm afraid my other commuter may just collect dust in my garage.

    Nothing but smiles!!

SUCCESS!! I put the bike up on the stand, took the front wheel off, removed the compression cap, tapped on the headset components a bit with a rubber mallet, put the stem back on and tightened it down. That did the trick! Checked out your Stafast stem review. It is a really nicely built...

Ya I get how to tighten and you definitely don't want to over tighten as it will bind up the headset. As long as you don't back the allen screw out all the way the compression shims back off and you can simply slip out the whole thing. I tried utilizing a second one I had for a 1 1/8 head tube...

    Advice on protection from flats

Try the Schwalbe or Continental tires. I've been running a set of Marathon Plus on my commuter and haven't had a flat since putting them on. In prior years I'd average about 5 flats a year. Just look for the e-bike rating on the Schwalbe model - I can't say enough good things about them. The...

That is kind of what I thought you were referring to - thanks. Making sure everything is greased properly is a very really concern here in the NW where we have to ride in the wet so much. And I've got a nice Park torque wrench that gets used a lot. :) I've been a bike enthusiast for years and...

BTW - I've used one of these compression steertubes shims before on a previous bike I built up. I know they can be a bit finicky. Not sure what you are referring to when you said grease the crankset? As for brakes - I did have to do a bit of adjusting but have had hydraulic disc brakes on my...
