    Giant quick e newby

it sounds like you’re in safe mode. I accidentally put it in this mode when I left the store and was so pissed because I couldn’t get above 16 mph. I forget how many times you press it, but pressing the light button 5-6 times in quick succession puts it in and out of this mode. You’ll have to...

2020 GIANT Explore-E+ Maximum Range Expectations

I know I’m late to this thread, but I think rider weight and force input are the two main factors in range. How much weight will the bike be carrying? Will you treat it like a normal bike, only using the motor when you have to and put a lot of effort into your ride or do you want the most comfy...

    Death Wobble Anyone?

@pocomo, thanks for asking and your insight. Yes, I upgraded to some ergo grips with small climbing extensions that feel absolutely amazing for my riding style. Super comfy and they add a little weight to the front end, evening out the balance of the bike. I’ve been more conscious of shifting...

    FASTROAD E+ EX PRO - 375Wh Battery?

Allant 8s is 1300 usd more than my quick e and you have to use your phone as the the display? Not sure what all the fuss is about. Who wants to ride more than 60 miles between charges?

    FASTROAD E+ EX PRO - 375Wh Battery?

Can you explain the app? I’m in North America and I haven’t seen any app. I’m not on the ride one system though. Apps for both systems? What’s it called?

    FASTROAD E+ EX PRO - 375Wh Battery?

I use my 2019 quickie to deliver. Never go above normal mode. Usually eco or eco plus. Do about 30 miles a night with about 50% left when I’m done. I think 375 would be fine on a lighter bike with more efficient technology. Seeing as this bike is very similar to mine, I could see being confident...

2019 giant explore e3 hydraulic brake question

Take the pads out and push the pistons back with a plastic tire lever. Take care to apply even pressure. Do this for both sides of the pistons. Also, there are plenty of videos on YouTube explaining how to change pads out on hydraulic brakes.

    Death Wobble Anyone?

Sorry, no, I didn’t say. It’s a 2019 quickE This makes complete sense. Thank you!

    Death Wobble Anyone?

I’ve noticed a pronounced death wobble with speeds above 20mph. For the uninitiated, it’s when the handlebars get going back and forth really fast and if left unchecked will exponentially get more wobbly and make you crash. I was thinking of putting a longer stem or even moving everything over...

    Quick-E+

I got mine set up tubeless from the get go. The shop put gorilla tape for a liner, but I e heard that’s not the best. You want something wide. I would say it’s worth going tubeless. I did invest about $160 on a nice lezyne overdrive with the canister so I can set the bead without a trip to the...

Got my new Explore E+1 GTS today!

This is what happened. I don’t always start in a straight line. Sometimes I mount up with my foot too far forward. Sometimes I will make a sharp turn as soon as I mount up. All these add up to me twice clipping the fender hard enough to unloose it. It’s not difficult if you are in a hurry. I...

Got my new Explore E+1 GTS today!

I clipped my toes on the fender, which came apart at the connector near the hub. I don’t see a zip tie in the pic, so I was worried you put a zip tie on the connector pieces, but I guess you had to put it on the mounting piece near the hub? They are the same mounts. Anyway, hope you get...

Got my new Explore E+1 GTS today!

Does that mean you zip ties the connector of the front fender? Because I think it is meant to break away and reattach in case it gets snagged on something. If it gets caught on something and doesn’t break away it could turn the whole bike unexpectedly and lead to a crash. Mine broke away and was...

Quick-E + wheel set: Tubeless Ready???

I’ve gone to 3 different LBSs to seat the bead on my rear wheel. After the last time, I now have a Lezyne overdrive floor pump on the way so I never have to, but each time, they question whether or not it is a tubeless rim to begin with. This latest time, I heard it from a shop that has tons of...

    Testing Giant Explore E3+...

Unless the front shock is a must, I would highly recommend the quick e plus for commuting. I’ve put 1400 on mine in 4 months and it’s been flawless. Bigger tires, fenders and a better, imho, display. Definitely recommend testing one before you pull the trigger, worth the extra $

    Chain comes off too easily

I second the chain guide. I bought an origin 8 one for my quickE and it’s great for the front chain ring. I’ve had my chain for about 1200 miles with no issue, but it would come off the front going too fast over bumpy terrain. Problem solved.

I've been trying to figure out what the clicking noise is coming from the crank/ motor area of 2019 Quick E+

If your bike is relatively new, make sure the crank arms are tight, as they will loosen up after a couple of rides. I believe it takes a 6mm Allen on the crank bolts clockwise. Don’t know the torque spec, but just make sure they’re good and tight. This eliminated the clicking noise I had. It’s a...
