I struggled to turn mine on as well until someone suggesting just pressing the button twice, rather than holding it down for a long time. Probably too simple a solution to your issue especially since it worked in the past and your wife has one as well but I just thought I’d throw it out there...

Some of you mentioned some issues switching the battery on. More often than not, I have to keep pressing the button and am almost ready to give up before it finally goes on. What am I doing wrong?

I wouldn’t cut the grip. I’d cut the mirror if anything. I didn’t cut either and it’s a very snug fit so if you don’t mind the slight protrusion, it’s great. Will post a picture in a bit.

Works fine if you don’t try to force it in. I am sure I could trim it to size but not really necessary. Just added a basket tonight :). Very happy.

It is also surprisingly easy to peddle at PAS0. That’s what I do when I want to have maximum control and I can still get it to 10-12 mph without too much effort at all.

So I picked up my bike today and rode home! I love it!!! I switched to PAS 0 at stops and turns until I was more familiar with it and my ride became a lot less “jerky”. My ride is mostly flat and drivers are very respectful (country roads) so it was a lot less stressful than I had expected...
