    Vado 5 charging question

I'm with you. Before my memory headed south I had a pretty good grasp of the subject. Now it seems that when I flip a switch, magic happens and it's all done with very thin wires and mirrors.

    Display Heart Rate on TCD?

I don't know which model chest strap you have, however just checking the Wahoo website the latest Tickr and TickrX will both pair with up to 3 bluetooth so if you have either, you should have no problem. The TCD display is a little confusing, holding which button/buttons for how long, what you...

    Heart Rate Monitor Recommendations

I don't know how old your Polar strap is but you'll need a HR monitor strap like the Polar H10 (or several other types) that can pair with 2 devices simultaneously. I use the Polar H9 (only pairs with one device at a time) on my Vado and elliptical machine because they aren't on at the same time...

    Heart Rate Monitor Recommendations

I just got a Polar H9 that I paired with my Vado 4.0 TCD. Price was $59 off Amazon. The H9 is a Bluetooth Ant+ device that will connect with one device at a time. For 2 devices you would need the H10 so you could be connected to the TCD and Mission Control simultaneously ($89). My H9 connected...

    Display Heart Rate on TCD?

On my manual it's Section 7.10 page 14. It actually worked. Paired with Polar H9.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Yeah. That's exactly what I was reading but then again I thought your TCU was a typo until I started reading and Yep there is a TCD and a TCU. Maybe by the time I get my new 2024 Turbo Vado 10.0 ZSX I'll have a grasp of some of this.😖

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Apparently the wireless TCD's do drop everything. Which bikes use them is beyond me but they are out there. What I really found annoying was that my manual said the same thing, but I didn't lose a thing. Even Mission Control didn't require re-initializing. I guess Marcela's advice was spot on...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Although the manual (bottom of page 11) said changing that changing the CR1220 battery would dump your settings on the TCD, it didn't on mine. After changing the battery all my settings (units, odometer, time etc.) were still there.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Well you would think I'd have learned after 41 years of flying. When in doubt, read the manual. It's the coin CR1220 battery in the TCD that's dying. I'll pick one up tomorrow. Changing the battery dumps everything in the TCD, even the Mission Control pairing.🤪

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I had read about the no battery issue but mine definitely reads Lo Bat. Funny thing, it isn't low and the bike works just fine. Hopefully it will either go away or wait until I can arrange a visit to my LBS. I did send a diagnostics report from Mission Control to my dealer. Perhaps a stray...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Speaking of batteries. I had a little issue with my 2020 Vado 4.0. Turned the bike on, everything boots normally and off I go. Looking down at the TCDW I notice "Lo Bat" flashing continuously so I stopped, turned the bike off for 45 seconds then back on, no change. The TCDW showed 9 bars and all...

    Love my Vado 5.0, BUT........

I should have added that on both occasions I was in the store with eyeball to eyeball contact with the Manager.

    Love my Vado 5.0, BUT........

The Specialized web site is not terribly user friendly as as far as contacts go. My best and generally immediate solution is using my LBS. On two occasions where I had an issue the owner/manager simply picked up the phone and contacted Support. Maybe they have a special phone number, but he was...
