Stuck thumb throttle almost got me killed

I agree. New throttle came just now, less than 24 hours. Rize does have good customer service! Before, and after install, will test brakes response to motor cut when applied. Will certainly do some major safety testing in neighborhood before venturing near normal road cycling area. I can't...

Stuck thumb throttle almost got me killed

Yesterday to prove to Rize...they asked me to take pics to see if could replicate. In PAS 0 with throttle stuck 1\2 way and brake on....nothing. Put in PAS 1......both brakes on with throttle in same 1\2 position, bike wanted to take off again....but did not show 04 error code. Perhaps 04...

Stuck thumb throttle almost got me killed

Basically, the thumb throttle just stuck. When pressed and released sometimes worked...other times remains stuck. Scariest thing... is l would never have believed this could happen. They're sending me a new throttle...but now l know NOT to trust it will release itself when applied. I use my...

Stuck thumb throttle almost got me killed

Have had two Rize bikes, first one is great, therefore decided to buy a commuter mid drive from same company. Unfortunately, l think l have a lemon. First….to date, customer service has been great. They’ve replaced a freewheel after 7th gear broke some teeth. Company admits they had issues...

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

Al, l trust your knowledge and judgement over mine!

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

Al Hickman, just spoke with Rize bike fellow, said it is a free wheel on the city MD bike. From my impression there were a few of the gear cog breakdowns. Where customers could get local service in the Vancouver area, he said that the vast majority of the replacement free wheels did the job...

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

I'm assuming you're experience is similar to mine. Hopefully, this is a one off. As I've said in previous posts, l have a Rize step leisure bike.... it's been great. My gut feeling is the city md is overpowered for the other parts. Hope I'm wrong. Cheers😎

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

Further update, just broke 2 or 3 cogs on highest gear#7. Spoke with Rize bikes, evidently this has happened to SOME of mid drive bikes, l don't know how many. They will send me a new freewheel as soon as they can.... that's fair. But... here's my question....product says it's a nickel plated...

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

Thanks, Hopefully, will go for a good ride soon. Roads still a bit scary here, lots of gravel from sand trucks over the worst winter here since 1972...50 years. Bikes only got 2.1 tires with out big grips. But on my short test ride.....like a rocket. Derailleurs have always befuddled me...

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

Snow finally gone here in Kamloops BC. Went for first ride, within 10 seconds had shifting issues. Bike had 3 miles on from initial Fall ride when purchased. Babied it then because l felt l was shifting wrong because was used to hub drive. Took to a bike shop, first guy said no issues without...

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

Al when you speak of pause in pedalling effort....are you talking about the bike's 3 millisecond pause, or are you suggesting suspend pedalling. I'm pretty sure you mean the former. Thanks

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

Mr.Hickman, help me out a bit please.l started the thread with the awkward shifting of the Bafang 500 watt, 120 newton mid drive. As l said l have another Rize bike too, a hub drive fat tire bike l use for dual purpose, city and single track. As such, my shifting, power assist, usage will be...

    2021 Rize Leisure

Have had step leisure since September 2020. Live in Kamloops BC. Have over 2000km on it. 50% on pavement, the rest on very good and sometimes tough single track near my house. Put it together myself, I'm no mechanic, have never touched the derailleur, periodically adjust brakes. Will...

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

Have had a Rize step Leisure 500 w rear hub for over a year. More than 2000km, of which half on Kamloops mtb trails....not one problem. Hope mid drive the same, but will use for pavement. Cheers.

Just got a city mid drive,. Have gone from a Rize step leisure. Shifting seems awkward

Just put together and rode city md ebike by Rize. Had Rize step leisure rear hub prior. Shifting seems awkward with the 3 millisecond pause. Is this a normal response to a Bafang 500 watt mid drive?

    Bike rack

Suggest Rola rack, plus extender Total around 260 USD. SEE CONVOY SUPPLY SOMEWHERE IN MISSOURI. Have step thru mtn bike too. Also bought Yakima extender from steering stem to bike seat, around 40. Used both from Phoenix to Kamloops BC. Worked great. Rola at least 1/2 price compared to fancy...
