[Tip] Yamaha PW - How to check the number of cycles & absolute battery capacity

I work on my bicycle as a courier so I just plugged it in after work & used a neoprene cover & kept my bicycle indoors when not in use (except +- 6 months where I had to store outdoors with a cover on. Battery taken indoors though). I've gone more in-depth about all this if you dig back through...

[Tip] Yamaha PW - How to check the number of cycles & absolute battery capacity

I did roughly 23 000 miles (37 000 km) on my 400Wh battery and it says 4 lights on, pause 4 lights on. So over (?)701+ charges and still over 75% capacity. Thing is I struggled to get 35 miles out of it in mixed conditions in the end. I found a brand new 500Wh genuine Yamaha battery on sale...

Crank arm set/pair sourcing help needed

Hi there Court n all! My ebike's left cranks thread stripped a few days back. Took it to local bicycle shop and they took it off for me. I then bought a cheap replacement of the same length but now my pedal on the left is too far out. Thing is I've been putting off changing my cranks for ages...

Alfine 8 & Nexus 7/8 hub gear service - advice needed

Thank you very much Nova Haibike. I'm in the process of ordering the 2 tools you mentioned & Internal Hub Maintenance Oil Kit. Can anyone add to this thread any advice and guidance about servicing these hub gears? Also: advice on cone adjusting after servicing? Is this complicated or...

Alfine 8 & Nexus 7/8 hub gear service - advice needed

I've watched some videos but I'm struggling to figure out the names and sizes of some of the tools required. Hub oil kit example: https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/shimano-internal-hub-maintenance-oil-kit-680444 & grease for bearings example...

Haibike SDuro (Yamaha) Trekking RC -- Tips on replacing display mount?

I'm on my 4th display and 2nd display holder & done nearly 23 000 miles. My experience of er15 is that the actual LCD display is worn out at the 2 slots that mounts the display holder. The LCD display is made from a softer plastic so wears out much faster than the display holder. Tip: I buy...

    Yamaha PW motor bearings service

I've recently watched the video from performancelinebearings.com I noticed he used some kind of hydraulic machine to get out some of the bearings. I was considering doing the bearings myself but I don't have such a machine + it's too expensive for using once every year or two. Those of you on...

How many of you park inside the home?

I do. I insist on it. I have a mechanics type mat that that I park it on and clean it and sevice it on. The mat soaks up oil and dirt and water that I can hoover up after. I also have a portable rack (wheel mount? Not sure of name) that I can pop either wheel into so I can avoid seat and...

Haibike SDuro (Yamaha) Trekking RC -- Tips on replacing display mount?

Yeah it was well messy! The bright side of being forced to do this last night is that I've now seen how I can do this & now I'm considering taking the motor off completely to open it and inspect the motor bearings and inners (as per the links on here for performancelinebearings.com). I was...

Haibike SDuro (Yamaha) Trekking RC -- Tips on replacing display mount?

Well I got it done in the end. The bash guard is quite stiff but also flexible in a very tough way. It took some fiddling and trial and error but I managed to twist it around and bend it out the way so I could lift the motor as shown in the video linked above. What JayVee mentioned about...

Haibike SDuro (Yamaha) Trekking RC -- Tips on replacing display mount?

Just got started and 3 of the Allen key bolts came out no problems but one of them the head stripped. So now I'm stuck with the bash guard on. I've watched some YouTube video on getting out stripped Allen bolts but nothing works because of where the bolt is deep in the "bash guard". Only...

Haibike SDuro (Yamaha) Trekking RC -- Tips on replacing display mount?

Well I barely got to work today. My LCD just kept coming loose uphill, downhill, on the flat, over speed bumps. Loads of wind too. I've given up working. Time to go home and pull an all nighter to install parts.

Haibike SDuro (Yamaha) Trekking RC -- Tips on replacing display mount?

Could any of you post any tips on doing this? Is this as simple as the video linked above shows? A straight forward disconnect the old part then feed the new part into the motor and reconnect? I've ordered a new display holder and it should arrive later today. I hope to do this Monday and am a...

    Spare battery costs

Has anyone used (bought) this battery in the UK? I've looked for reviews and threads on net and keep reading negative things too often about third party ebike batteries. Too many people say they lose capacity much faster and are prone to sudden deaths after the 1 year warranty is up. My...

[Tip] Yamaha PW - How to check the number of cycles & absolute battery capacity

Chainring update? Have you done the bearings change yet? If so any better? I'm currently considering taking my bike into performance line bearings to have motor bearings serviced.

[Tip] Yamaha PW - How to check the number of cycles & absolute battery capacity

That tool I attached goes behind the chainring to hold the part that you tighten with an Allen key. As far as I'm aware it is standard way of doing it. Google for videos on it. Would you be willing to film yourself doing the bearing change and grease + open and closing of motor & post on here?

[Tip] Yamaha PW - How to check the number of cycles & absolute battery capacity

1st: have you checked and tightened the actual chainring? I've had this happen before I found out the correct extra tool to use to tighten the chainring properly (see attachment example to use with correct size Allen key). 2nd: how are you servicing bearings? Yourself or mechanic? Where did you...

[Tip] Yamaha PW - How to check the number of cycles & absolute battery capacity

No. I didn't know you could service the engine. From what I was told when I bought it Yamaha motors can't be serviced but they're long lasting and reliable. You ride them until they die. I do clean my drive train before most shifts. As in I clean chain, rear sprocket and chainring then re oil...
