    If you go with something that has a throttle, be aware that it can be horribly addicting not to pedal. Maybe get something at is more of a pedelec, if you want to make sure that you keep pedaling. Not sure the real concerns for the UK. Seems like rain would be a worry. So take that battery...

    From what I know, some batteries love it and some batteries hate it. Never really looked into it much deeper than recommendations from other people. But I would try to find the advice for your battery in particular.

    Really good looking out! Don't have a Mariner, but I will check my bike for similar issues. (A little ironic that the Mariner of all bikes would not be water tight...)

    Does it only work with their batteries? Or is there some sort of adapter?

    Have you noticed any decreased range? I know you are saying that the battery held up well, but does that mean no change, or not that extreme of a change, or something else entirely. Just looking for some better batteries, so any help would be appreciated.
