    the Schwalbe Big One / G-One 2.35" 29'er

I agree, I rode the Ocean Current with its stock balloon tires it rides very nice. I wish the Cross Current had room for a 2.5-3 inch wide tire. I think that many people still falsely assume wider tires at lower pressures are inherently slower which has been repeatedly shown to be false. From my...

    the Schwalbe Big One / G-One 2.35" 29'er

I once entertained building a gravel bike around these tires. Truly amazing how low the rolling resistance is combined with, say, 20psi of inflation pressure should make for a magic-carpet ride. You are a brave man for trying to install them. Given how hard to fix a flat I don’t know that I...

New Juiced Bike Model: The Scrambler, fat 20" Wheels, Class 3, Double-Seater

Assuming this has a torque sensor it’s a big improvement over the BBSHD-based Super 73 and Luna knockoff. IMO this type of e-bike appeals to non-bike people so I can see it being successful. The lack of seat adjustment would be a deal breaker for me personally but there’s always the CCS and RCS...

CrossCurrent S hydraulic Brake Bleed Kit

I believe motor inhibitors are required by law on street legal ebikes in the US (but not on aftermarket kits.) As somebody who has narrowly avoided hitting cars on my regular bikes I see the safety value of the motor inhibitors. In a panic stop situation you that extra second you would be...

    Looking for best commuter ebike

I believe the Brose and Bosch units peak in the 550-600W range. I have an e-bike with 600-700W of peak power (an original Cross Current) and it can’t hold 28mph under a range of conditions (headwind and incline). The mid-drives are slightly more efficient so my Cross Current is probably pretty...

2016 Crosscurrent vs New Crosscurrent Air

Yes, as long as it’s the basic Cross Current and not the original Cross Current Air. If it has hydraulic Tektro Dorado disc brakes it will have the torque sensor.

2016 Crosscurrent vs New Crosscurrent Air

The new Air gets you to 20 amps of power versus ~13 amps on the Cross Current. I’d probably get the Air and add the torque sensor (+$200) but then you’re only $250 away from a new Cross Current S. I have an original Cross Current and with a new 12.8Ah battery for $999 that’s a pretty good deal...

Two months and still no resolution

You can also shim the battery pack using Velcro. Juiced support sent me some pictures on where to place the Velcro. That’s how I eventually solved the cutouts I was getting over bumps.

JUMP- ebike Share Company in San Francisco and DC -coming to Chicago?

I’ve seen the Lime dockless electric ride share bikes starting to appear in Santa Monica. I’m guessing they are using the disruptor model like Bird and haven’t asked for permission from the city.

Why did Tora stop using dealers to sell bikes?

Many e-bikes use the Reention mounting system so there are lots of batteries out there that would work in a CCS or RCS. The only catch is that there are different lengths of the Reention standard so you would need to know the length of the battery in order to determine if it would work.

How to Best Charge Battery for Longest Life

The CCS display can show you how many watt hours you use if you reset the trip odometer before your commute.

Original CC Is This Piece Really Needed?

I’m pretty sure that it is a torque arm but it’s been a while since I removed the rear wheel on my Cross Current.

Why did Tora stop using dealers to sell bikes?

The large batteries are custom designed and built to Juiced Bikes specifications. But the mounting system is not proprietary so you would still be able to buy a replacement battery from somebody else if Juiced ever went out of business. That’s more than you can say for something like the...

Okay, talk me out of cancelling my CCS order

    Did they tease it somewhere?

Why did Tora stop using dealers to sell bikes?

    >I have spoken to multiple bike shop workers/owners who explicitly said they are the same bikes, though you look to be right about the torque sensor, I didn't catch that. I would agree with the exception of the frame and torque sensor. That frame doesn’t look like any of the Cross Current...

Okay, talk me out of cancelling my CCS order

This is true of most suspensions seatposts. They push the seat back somewhat. Definitely something most buyers aren’t considering when selecting the frame size. I have a Body Float and I’m glad I went with the M CC and not the L (I’m 5’9”). The Cross Current already fits big more like a mountain...

How to Best Charge Battery for Longest Life

I agree, however the bike is a lot peppier above 50% charge so you might want to top it off a bit at work. Definitely not necessary to make that trip though. When I did 30 miles on my CC with my 17.4Ah battery on S mode it was getting sluggish towards the last 25% of the ride.

Why did Tora stop using dealers to sell bikes?

That looks like an open standard Chinese frame with the Cross Current Air drivetrain, rack, fenders and lights. They aren’t advertising it with a torque sensor. At $1799 with the 13Ah battery this seems to support the idea that there isn’t enough margin for dealers in the Juiced products unless...

How to Best Charge Battery for Longest Life

I don’t think 18650 cells degrade with age . I remember reading that there were some lithium ion batteries with thousands of charge cycles on them with no notable degradation. The key is never to discharge the battery to 0% and to periodically balance the cells (which should happen automatically...
