It doesn't seem like criticism is allowed on this board without you harping on the person. So unfortunately no one voices your opinion because you come along and try to shut them down. Just being truthful here.
I, just like you and others, have bought this bike. I think we're entitled to our...
True. I think my best bet is probably just to buy a spare controller and store it incase I ever need it in the future. Better safe than sorry, and it'll be good to have one in case anything ever does happen in the future and they're not available.
The CCS has 0, Eco, 1, 2, 3, and S. I'm pretty sure it's the same as the air.
The CCX has 0, Eco, 1, 2, 3, S, and R. My guess is that the R mode is where you're running into the higher amps from the controller and creating more heat.
That's kind of a poor comparison. Automotive manufacturers don't redesign their vehicles every year, there is a few years of using the same everything. They do them in generations. The Impala for example is on its 10th Generation. I'm sure a piece of equipment from a 73 Impala would be identical...
I agree. The value behind these bikes is nice. I love my CCS, and when guests come by they love the old CC. I'm just hoping that 2 years down the line if I have a controller issue I'm not stuck with a discontinued controller that I can't buy a replacement for because it's an older generation...
I honestly don't get what the motor would have to do with the controller. Controller is a 25 amp controller. The CCS is a 20. That's not a huge difference. Maybe I'm wrong though. I understand the possibility of it being too big in terms of its dimensions, because of the bigger down tube on the...
If you look at the new details of the CCX it mentions Odometer and Trip meter in the features of the display, along with the new wh/mi efficiency feature.
The CCS only has a trip meter. It doesn't get reset if you remove the battery and is only reset if you hold down the power and minus ...
CCS has a 20 peak amp controller. 48*20=960.
on the LCD display you will notice if you are in sport mode from a stop holding the throttle and pedaling hard that you will be in the 900-watt area.
I believe that if you're upgrading the controller to be the same as the CCS it's recommend you have the larger battery. 12.8 and above. It's mentioned here.

This is partly why I just went with getting a whole new CCS when I really want to upgrade my CC. The...
I wish there was a page that has detailed information on the motor that's on our CCS's with all the torque ratings etc.
When I type in the model number that's on the actual motor, I get tons of different results from Google.
The one that confuses me on their chart is the 48 volt batteries. It says both have 52 cells, but one is 8.8ah and the other is 12.8ah
Isn't that just each cell is rated differently in terms of capacity?
I'm hoping they make it upgradable. If you look at the specifications for the CCX, under the frame area, it mentioned it has the pass through for the wires feature. I'm not too sure if this makes the bottom area a little bit wider. If so that may mean the controller has more room. This CCX...
I got a rear flat (on my Marathon tires!) about 3 miles from home. I used the walk mode the entire way home. There was a difference between using it and not using it. It was helpful.
