Saw a Black CCS in MPLS at Crave west end 8/2/18

That would be me!!! Did you shout something? At some point along the trail I thought I heard something but couldn't locate it.

How to Best Charge Battery for Longest Life

I do effectively this same commute with the 48V 17.4Ah battery doing 80/20 and using level 2 most of the time, and I end the day with battery to spare above 20%. I doubt you'll have any issues whatsoever unless you ride super aggressively.

How to Best Charge Battery for Longest Life

For what it's worth, I'm using the Luna charger just fine. Luna sells an XT60-to-barrel adapter, and then you just use the barrel-to-XLR adapter that came with your bike from Juiced.

    Throttles

Definitely when I was younger I would have probably thought of it as cheating. Now, my 40-something knees are already hinting at their crankiness in old age, and I'm not out to prove anything to anyone, so I throttle when I feel like throttling even if I know I could get off a line or up a hill...

    Throttles

I wasn't sure how much I'd use it, but I end up using the throttle constantly. A good bit of my commute is through residential Minneapolis where there are lots of stop signs/lights. Because once you're cruising the bike really needs to be at least in 7th gear, it's super annoying to remember...

As battery depletes, when exactly does the system "throttle" back throttle? (pun intended)

The software developer in me thinks there could be a simple explanation, a bug in the low voltage level implementation code. Voltage is a floating point number, but the low voltage cutoff you enter in the menu is an integer. To compare the voltage to the cutoff, you have to make them the same...

Juiced Bikes CrossCurrent S Fender Help

Surprisingly, once you get the fenders right, it will generally remain adjusted even through hundreds of miles of riding. To bend mine, I detached the clip from the fender on the side that was too close to the tire, leaving the stay attached at the fork, and bent outward by holding the stay near...

4th Gen CCS will be available with 52V battery

That just happened like in the last hour. I swear it was Sold Out when I wrote that last post! :-) Thanks!

4th Gen CCS will be available with 52V battery

Tora, will you be restocking the barrel-to-male-4-pin-XLR adapter any time soon? I really don't want to make one myself, but I haven't been able to find one of these from anywhere else.

4th Gen CCS will be available with 52V battery

Ah - nevermind Chris! Yours will use a 3-pin XLR!

4th Gen CCS will be available with 52V battery

Just found the pinout document on Juiced's website. I've attached it. Looks like the middle pins aren't actually used. That would make the soldering job easier if you choose to make your own.

Juiced Bikes CrossCurrent S Fender Help

Sliding the clips up and down is good for making sure you've got consistent wheel clearance, but I wouldn't apply any force to them. Just bend the heck out of the support wires, it's normal and expected.

4th Gen CCS will be available with 52V battery

The 4-pin XLR has two pins soldered to each wire. I forget which is which but the 4-pin XLR plug on the end of the charger unscrews easily to determine this. If you buy a Luna charger for example, it'll have an XT60 plug coming out of its charger. You'd need to make an XT60 to 4-pin XLR adapter...

As battery depletes, when exactly does the system "throttle" back throttle? (pun intended)

Ok, I experimented all the way home and have some answers! Short version: It is software limited, and Reid was right, lowering the low voltage limit resolved the issue. There might be normal battery charge degradation and cold weather also contributing, but it's clear that the issue I was...

As battery depletes, when exactly does the system "throttle" back throttle? (pun intended)

The battery has been out in the bike locker (which has been about 32-40 degrees the past couple of weeks). I take it in at night for charging, but have avoided lugging it in during the day at work. I usually experience this several miles into the evening ride home, so even if I took the battery...

As battery depletes, when exactly does the system "throttle" back throttle? (pun intended)

Ah, this is a good clue. I believe I set mine to like 42V on Tora's recommendation in his video walking through the control settings. That may be why I'm experiencing the sudden cutoff of throttle. I will reset to 40V on the way home and see what happens. Great idea, thanks Reid! Did you mean...

Thanks for this, I've been hunting for that rattle! Can't wait to try this for tomorrow's commute.

As battery depletes, when exactly does the system "throttle" back throttle? (pun intended)

I am generally aware of how power will gradually drop off as the battery depletes (and I do the 80%/20% charging thing so I do watch the voltages closely), but the throttle seems to suddenly drop off, not gradually. It'll be responsive at one stoplight and totally sluggish a minute later. It...

As battery depletes, when exactly does the system "throttle" back throttle? (pun intended)

I've noticed that somewhere below 50% charge the throttle stops responding as snappily. It's a pretty dramatic dropoff. I assume this is for battery conservation. Is this a software-controlled thing (nothing in the menus but just wondering what the underlying mechanism is)? I haven't had the...

Upper Midwest Juiced CrossCurrent Bike Owners Support Group (unofficial)

Ha! I just saw this now. I'm the second member of that FB group. I'm commuting 22 miles round trip to the U on my CCS, it's been glorious!
