The downsides of ordering something from the first few production runs. I've experienced this with many different types of products. The first one or two production runs almost always tend to have some issues or bugs to work out.

With a little effort it can also be bent out by hand. I didn't have any tools handy at the time and I was able to bend mine out that way. I just braced my feet against the frame and pulled the guard until it bent out enough to let the derailleur shift to 7th gear.

Does changing the wheel size setting also correct the odometer? Mine is off by about 20%.

I also suspect it's a vibration based on the fact that the plastic washer between the fender and frame made it a little better even if it didn't completely eliminate it. I've been looking for a rubber washer or o-ring of a size that would fit instead of the plastic washer but so far I haven't...
